Anyone own a Mac Mini?

Good call on the magic track pad. Mac track pads are nothing like the equivalent found on Windows deigned machines. The mac trackpad is a thing of beauty and why I would probably go for a macbook pro for my first mac should I ever cross that bridge. The multitouch features they incorporate in them make it highly productive once you learn some common gestures and techniques.

OMG. The track pads. I frickin bought a $69 Magic Touchpad for my hackintosh. I swear that thing is the best thing since sliced bread. So smooth, so responsive. It's almost as fun as a submissive super model under my finger tips. The naughty things I do to spreadsheets with that would make an accountant blush.

Ok, Apple dudes. There are a couple of things that I used a lot on my pc but can't figure out how or why it doesn't work with my Mac. I used to use Control + A to highlight text and want to know why the Home and End keys don't do the same thing as they did on the pc keyboard.

I go to Microsoft conferences a lot and just about every instructor uses a Macbook Pro LOL

Man a whole thread and I have no idea what the hell most of it is about....................I did get the whole Killer Bunny thing though.................and I'm in....................got to get me the KB4000 (which doesn't have any of the user problems that the Funny Bunny had running the infamous burned mutt OP)

The new macs released after lion came out have magic firmware that means if your mac gets completely hosed and the recovery partition is no longer available you can net boot your mac directly from apple's servers and restore your system.

I have owned a mac mini since the first one and every model in between. I love them.

One of my favorite Mac utilities is also implemented well in Solaris, in Mac it is Time Machine, in Solaris it is Time Slider. These are great user friendly methods of managing backups. Granted Solaris has ZFS behind it but still. Sorry had to re-up the geekery of this thread.

A suggestion would be to check out the Apple Application store. I thought it was scam when I first heard about it but it's actually very good. I bought Pages, the apple WP, for $20. It's every bit as good as Word and better in some areas. You can also get Numbers and Keynote for the same price which is the rest of the iWork program.

Still contemplating upgrading to lion.

Mixed reviews on the lion upgrade from friends I know who have done it. When it comes to OS I am one who likes to stay just behind the latest and greatest.

If I ever did the full on switchover I know it would be expensive. The first shopping stop would be Logic Studio. That means I need to just add $500 on top of the price of purchase after I get a mac. I miss Logic. I was a big Logic Audio supporter before apple bought it and you could no longer get a PC version. I still have a copy of the last platinum edition before that switch over.
