    Skateboarding is dangerous...

    ...just saying.

Broke the wrist in two parts completely while skating a ramp. Hurts like a bitch but luckily I have snus to ease me through it!

Yeah.....luckily I never broke a bone skating but I stopped when I needed over 100 stitches in my chin. My chin bone was exposed courtesy of a flight of stairs.

      Good times....

I broke my right wrist skateboarding, but it wasn't as severely as yours... thankfully.

Get better soon! I managed to make it through my skating career with nothing more than road rash, but things were simpler back then. We didn't push the envelope as far :^D

I broke my arm skateboarding down the big hill next to my house. Hit a pebble, went flying, decided I liked bikes a LOT more... Wouldn't have even known what a ramp was!

I broke my leg 6 years ago skating on my super-fast board with 56mm wheels and brand new Swiss bearings. I was bombing a hill with a 4-way stop right in the middle (real bright idea) and as I approached the intersection at mach one I saw an older guy driving a Volvo, stopped at the stop sign. I was waving my hand trying to get his attention so that I could just blow right through the 4-way stop, but he didn't see me! He started creeping forward in that damn Volvo into the middle of the intersection. I tried to swerve into the oncoming lane to avoid him but there was a car coming at me, so dammit if I didn't just brace for impact. I T-boned the Volvo, literally flipped over the top of his car, a full-flip, and landed at an angle on my leg.

I have also broken my wrist many years ago, actually broke both the radius and ulna bones clean in half but it didn't break the skin. My tendons were stretched over the shelf that my arm bones created as they jutted out, which made my fingers all twitchy and jiggly... That was the only time I hurt myself and immediately demanded to be taken to a hospital right away. Other times I've been too scared that I actually hurt myself badly and stupidly tried to convince myself that it wasn't necessary to go get fixed up. Skateboarding hurts! I don't do it anymore! Get well soon!

Funny you just said that roo, About a half hour ago i was riding my bike and getting some exercise when some f#cknut decides to enter a pedestrian crossing and hits me with his car. Guy was all "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, what can I do?" I assessed the damage noticed my front rim was enough out of true for the front pads to bind and I felt some roughness in the cranks when i pedaled. So I'm like well there's prolly a hundgy in damages. He's like "I'm broke I don't have any money. I'll give you smoke if you want one." Jesus christ. So I detach my brake cable look at the sprocket and notice it rubbing the bottle cage. fix that problem. He's lucky i hate the cops more than I hate being hit by cars. I said just get out of here before that busybody on the cell phone across the street calls the cops. Should only be about $20 to get her fixed up. If I hadn't yelled at this little prick when I did, I'd prolly be in an ambulance right now. Figures I get hit and survive and it's by some 20 something dead beat in a P.O.S. My ankle and left side where the impact was is a little sore tho. I'll live tho.
