SnusOn IRC Chat?

I know we've got the chat box on the forum, but I myself like to hang out in IRC chat...

For those unfamiliar, IRC is a way to have stand-alone chats. Benefits are that it's real-time, and people can idle in there/respond as they see fit. Does anyone else think this would be a nice addition to this site?

I think some have tried it, but it withered due to lack of use. Personally, I'm not a fan of real time chat. I prefer the bulletin board system of forums.
