    What's your favourite board game?

Mine is probably Scrabble and Othello/Reversi. What's yours?

Backgammon is pretty good. Battleship also used to be one of my favorites.

In my younger days it was Scrabble.

These days there's not enough time to finish a game!!

Funny story, in addition to being a beer geek I am also a board game nerd. I play 2-4 games a week of many different games. I would say my current fav. is this new fast paced deck builder named "Ascension: Chronicle of the Godslayer" I would tell you that the "best" game is "Power Grid" witch is an Economic game. My top 5 games list has maybe 17 games in it right now. I wont bore you all with a 5 paragraph post but here is a link to the board game site I frequent. http://boardgamegeek.com/

                Interesting site.

I've seen people at malls play on these huge board games with all sorts of painted game pieces. It looked like a strategy game.

Just kidding of course! Never really got into board games much, but I was completely addicted to text-based adventure games when I was a kid. Lived in front of an Apple IIe as a kid playing those Infocom classics. Wont lie and say it stopped when I got older...

I think that my fall under a whole 'nother level of "nerd-dom"...

BTW, If you've never played text based adventure games before, there's only one place to start:

Where do you find people to play that many games per week? Every time I have mentioned games (other than D&D or trivia nights) to people around here they turn their nose up at me. I have a closet full of games, many of them never played because they either require at least 3 players or they are strategy games that my husband is so terrible at playing that I won't even try any more.
I couldn't pick one favorite board game. As a kid I would have said Monopoly, but it just doesn't seem as exciting now. I'm not sure if that is lack of good competition, just the many lame versions that are out nowadays, or simply because I have been playing it since I leaned to count.

Definitely Risk! Sadly, none of my friends have enough time to sit through a full game these days.

I vote for a forum Scrabble game. I love scrabble. Risk is good too. I loved Zork on the Apple IIe.
