One of my favorites too. Cerebral enough to be skill based, but not so much that it's a major mental workout. I hate Trivial Pursuit. Other than a couple narrow categories, I don't know much trivia. That game takes forever, and I always lose.
I love board games. I enjoy trying any game i come across really. I don't really like trivia games or games like pictureka. Risk is an old favorite. Mancala, Dutch Blitz, Scrabble, Senet (AKA King Tut's Game), Phase 10, Monopoly is an old stand by. Although they aren't really board games, Jenga, Yahtzee, and The Simpsons Duff Dice Game are all fun.
I used to love playing that game but my all time favorite has to be Sports Illustrated All-Time All-Star Baseball. I played it so much I had to use a magic marker to write the numbers back on the dice. My favorite aunt would make copies of the score sheets for me at her job. This was back in 1973. Great thread. Brought back some great memories.
