Watched Three Kings tonight (have seen it many times before). Very funny but emotional movie that takes place at the end of the Gulf War. Apparently it was influenced by Kelly's Heroes which i plan on watching in a little bit for the first time.

Great movie. The X-Files did an episode called Ice that was inspired by the movie, check it out if you haven't seen it already.

Just watched A Clockwork Orange for the first time in years. Kubrick is so stark in his composition! Amazingly unsettling in every frame. What a disturbed and disquieting son of a bitch he must have been. "The Shining" is still the creepiest and most uncomfortable film I've ever seen. He had an unbelievable knack for the awkward and uncomfortable, with lots of creepy set design and odd perspectives. It made me realize that most contemporary filmmakers are lacking so much style and artistry and it made me wish the aesthetics of different film stock could be preserved in modern movies.

Clockwork and The Shining are two of the most disturbing films I've ever seen. I'd say Clockwork probably freaked me out more, but a few years after seeing The Shining for the first time, I got a job as a night auditor at a hotel. When the place was fairly empty, it got pretty damn creepy about 2 am!

I watched Super 8. Not that great, but had some 80s nostalgia.

I watch Kubrick a lot. He is one of the weirdest guys ever.
