Nothing surprising if you have been following conspiracy theories for the last decade. It is going to get a lot worse but not doomsday scenario.. just pretty much a wealth adjustment for the once middle class. (Gotta grab from the boomers) North American Union kinda thing.. yeah, all because of Republicans.

I own no stocks, no property, and never have more than a couple hundred dollars to my name. It has been quite beneficial during all of this as none of the f***ed economy has effected me at all. I have always had blue collar jobs and I haven't had any trouble finding/maintaining a job. I need only to drive by all the shops and restaurants with cars in the parking lot and wonder why everyone says we are f***ed. I guess the economy is bad, but I just haven't seen any of that.

China's getting on our ass now. That actually makes me smile. We've been preaching to the world for decades, and now we're on the receiving end of the misbehaving child speech. Delicious :^)

Anyone still trying to blame one side or the other when it comes to this is lost. Also, that S&P themselves would blame this on the mannerisms of one single political party during the process of this bill is just laughable.

Does the S&P expect us to forget that they are the ones who partially caused all of this by giving AAA ratings to shitty investments that they knew were shitty which ended up tanking the economy? S&P can suck a D. They also made a $2 trillion error in their initial report when downgrading, then when called outon it they moved the goalpost and claimed it was because of something else. They blame republicans for not allowing revenue increases as well as both parties inability to cut $4 trillion in spending. They said since July that if the dems/reps don't cut the $4 trillion, our credit rating will be downgraded.

Now they say there is a 1 in 3 chance they will downgrade it again in the coming months.

Meanwhile, one investor put a billion $ bet that the credit rating would be lowered and is now getting paid out 10 billion on that bet. Insider information much? I wonder if the S&P isn't just doing this to profit themselves.

We have changed our assumption on this because the majority of Republicans in Congress continue to resist any measure that would raise revenues, a position we believe Congress reinforced by passing the act.

                  It's right there in black-and-white.
That's only one part of a very complicated issue. The overall picture is that S&P wanted us to offer up a plan to lower our deficit by 4 trillion and we put forward a plan that lowers it 2.1. Both sides are to blame in that.

The S&P equally says entitlements need to be addressed and it was the Dems preventing entitlements from being addressed, which held up what would have been an earlier deal cutting more spending.

All in all the republicans took the economy hostage and witha gun to it's head managed to create an environment where investors are unsure that we will be able to handle our debt obligations ina civilized manner going forward. No one wants to give away their pet projects (entitlements and tax cuts for rich), so everyone will burn as a result.

These are your leaders, and they are lying to you, they have no shame: Geithner says there is "no risk" the U.S. will lose its top rating.

Agreed ... and in case of our American friends I guess only the Chinese government can do anything. When I start to think about it, I come to the conclusion that this is no longer funny.

                    Cheers!

Negative my friend.. That's a scam.. Depending on the Anti and how they are stored they can last years after the exp date. The only exception to this rule is tetracycline.. Now for the disclaimer.. It is recommended that you throw them out when the exp date comes around. The reason? Mo money my friend... The drug companies say that new info on contraindications etc change so they want constantly updated warnings and what not on the product. This is a good idea to some extent but really is just an excuse.

The US army did a huge study on this because rhey had over a billion dollars of antibiotics and did not want to throw them out for obvious reasons. What were the results? Most of the meds were just as effective if stored correctly years after the date..

I have a stockpile of 6 that I keep sealed in argon infused wax sealed jars.. Sounds crazy I know but trust me. WTSHTF even a little.. The supply coming in will be history pronto and you are going to need them...

Actually its less of a scam and more of a protective measure. If everyone stored there drugs correctly the expiration date could be moved much farther out, however because people are sue happy, and sue happy people tend to err on the stupid side, the drugs companies must put a date that will insure their effectiveness as well as what ABW mentions about new side effects and whatnot. The fact that it appeals to their bottom line is just an awesome bonus.

So store your cache of dope is a nice dry dark place (hint your medicine cabinet above your bathroom sink is NOT a dry place.) and don't worry so much about the date. Just remember you can't sue if it's out of date and they don't work or make you grow a third nipple.

Ehh..its still kinda of a scam.. You are correct that part of it is related to legality issues but they know that the meds are effective well past the label on the box. I have had many a drug rep tell me it's for turn over reasons but there is some truth to what you say also. Without turnover they could not keep an "updated" product on the shelves... still, it's really has nothing to do with effectiveness of the med in most cases..

I have even heard a rumor that the anti's at the fish store are the same thing(down to the same numbers on the pills) but I can't recommend that..
