20th Anniversary of the first web page

August 6, 1991 Tim Berners-Lee created the first web site, running on the world's first web server, a NeXT Workstation.

Pretty cool. A lot's changed in 20 years. It's a whole different world, and it's largely due to the www.

Totally remember the first website I ever visited... It was at my highschool, on the first net workstation I had ever seen... saw an advert for the new bruce Willis movie "last man standing" in the newspaper and typed the website in...

Way before that, I hooked up to local bbs's with my apple IIe and a 2400 baud modem!

I came to the web late. My stepson got a WebTV for Xmas around 1998, and I was mesmerized. That renewed my interest in computing, and I got a computer a few years later.

I remember when my ISP was a local computer supplier, and they would yell at people for leaving the Internet on! LOL!

I remember getting my first aol disk.. after 10 hours a month I believe you had to pay per hour to be online. We would get more disks and use credit card number generators to make fake accounts lol. When that ran out I'd do the local bbs. We would have gatherings at bars was alot of fun.
