First we go after tobacco and next we hit lemonade!

Unbelievable article about our government cracking down on lemonade stands. I wasn't sure if I could paste it with the links intact so I am posting the link to the article itself.

This is horrible beyond words. The people actually calling the cops to complain should be shot.

It's about time they started cracking down on these kids! Too long have kids been able to rake in the bucks on lemonade stands, baby sitting, cutting lawns, without paying proper taxes or having proper permits! I understand some of them can make as much as 100 bucks! Unacceptable!

LMAO the rediculousness never ends, and yet others are living free off the gobmint for years (including corporations) and it's fine.

Exactly. Children are our future, so let THEM fix the problem.

I can't help but think of all the 'real' crimes that probably occur behind the officers backs as they write up their tickets to these children. Talk about wasted tax dollars. This reminds me of a cop in my friend's hood a few weeks back...he came screaming down the road with lights and siren on...causing a spectacle that was quite entertaining - he was chasing down 5 year olds for riding their bikes on the sidewalk without helmets! This douchebag went from kid to kid, flooring it in drive and reverse to catch these little law breakers. On top of that, he even got out of his car and went from house to house looking for parents to warn them of the possible consequences of a citation to a court appearance. For once in my life, I was so proud to have a slacker kid who was indoors playing videogames.

My lady and I saw the vid clip a few weeks ago... Total bs, but if they are gonna enforce it as such, why not use it to teach the kids a little about how biz works. It sounds silly and may be ridiculous, but just have a $1 permit fee and a "form" that the parents and kids can fill out and file together.

Don't get me wrong... I don't think this should even be a conversation... Just saying, if police swat teams are gonna bust down on lemonade stands, the 10 yr old girl can whip out her permit and tell them to "Get off my lawn!"
