I lived on Oahu for 2 years and there is no way I would ever be brave enough to drive a scooter, or a motorcyle for that matter, on those super busy roads! Ugh...I just remembered all the nasty rush-hour traffic jams on H1. Sure don't miss that!
Any motorcycle fans here???

Anyone heard anything good/bad about the Buell Blasts??? That's a 500cc bike and it looks like it is aimed towards beginners. Trying to stay away from the Ninja 250/500, even though they are in my price range. They are a tad too flashy for me as well as too tall for my preferred comfort range. I told my neighbor I wouldn't mind getting a Kawasaki Eliminator, but he just laughed at me because they are only 125cc..not a good choice if I ever want to go on the 70 MPH highway.

My bike is only 9 weeks old, and I already have 3300 miles. And I haven't left the country. He**, I have only been to two other states on it, most of that is just the back roads of beutiful North Carolina. I ahd to wait 6 months after my accident last November to ride, guess I am just making up for lost time. Should put another 400+ on it this Sunday.

Wishing
I wish to get back into riding. I really love motorcycles.
I have mostly stuck with 700cc and below but I am wanting to make the big jump over the 1000cc limit.
I am looking at Triumph Street's and Rocket 3's and the new Harley XR1200's.
I've been mostly a crusier or standard type guy.

I've always been interested in bikes, and my interest has been piqued since my uncle got a Harley (don't know the specifics, though, just that it's gorgeous). And then my cousin got a bike (again, don't know the specifics)... I love the way Harleys sound, but I've always been more for the looks of BMWs... The K1200S, K1200R, and R1200RT all look gorgeous to me, and I wish I had the time and money to get into it and see if they're as nice as they look. One thing to hear how wonderful they are, another to experience it.

Anyone had experience with BMW bikes? I always loved the look of the K1200S, though it's not on the website anymore. There's the K1300S instead, and the mischievous looking HP2 Sport. I don't think I'd ever have the cash to drop on the HP2 though, and wouldn't have anywhere to really push a bike like that to it's limits either.

I've been on BMW's since 1982
Here's my kids:
I've only owned "R" series bikes, almost got a "K" but talked myself out of it....
But the F800gs has me interested.....

I don't ride, yet. But when I do, it will be on a Yamaha TDM 900. From all the testing I've done, it seems to be the perfect bike for me.
It won't break any sound barriers, but it'll take me from NY, NY to San Diego, CA without giving me a hard time. Coincidentally, that's what I hope to be doing once I get the bike.
