.........I'd prefer a few valium tablets myself.
the Ipad sounds like a feminine product to me. Makes me believe its for puzzys.
there...........now we can have a real internet war.Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......
I've been wrong lots of times. Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

My biggest complaint with iPods and such for music is the tiny capacity they have. If I went through the trouble of re-ripping everything I have to a supported format, I'd still need several of the 160GB versions to contain my collection. They seem more aimed at people who have pretty small libraries, rather than collectors with a sizeable library. And before anyone has to ask, yes, I really can listen to all that music. I manage to cycle through all of my collection at least once a year or so. If I'm going to drop the money on one of those, they damn well better carry my whole collection, or I'll just keep on going with the 600 CDs in the back seat of the car instead.
Also, have fun with Arch. Just reinstalled it on my desktop after my harddrive died. If you need to keep things running smoothly with limited resources, I've been having success with evilwm as my desktop environment lately. I think I recall seeing someone saying the whole GUI used 6MB of RAM. Granted, it doesn't have any bells and whistles, but that suits me just fine.

I have a 2gb Sansa, and it does exactly what I want, at a low price. 2gb is a shitload of music, and I swap music in and out as the mood strikes me. I tend to listen to music in phases, so it doesn't do me much good to carry my whole collection everywhere I go.
I'll never own an Apple device of any kind aside from the 512mb Shuffle that I've misplaced somewhere. I don't like anything about the company except for their industrial design, which as noted earlier in the thread is a double edged sword. Seeing the logo on a product would piss me off more than any enjoyment I got out of it :^D

The only problem is Google blundered and offered no real time kernel with Android so media on it is suffering and that is where the ipad excels. If google doesn't fix that then no real media software will ever take hold on Android. I do like though that I don't need to own a certain computer just to develop for android. I can get all the tools to do so for free. iPad is another matter. However I will eventually get an iPad. I see at as a very useful music device in the end.

I had an Android tablet briefly, and personally I just don't really like the feel of the Android OS, iOS (to me) just seems so much tighter and smoother.

Well most of my choice of fluxbox usage is the fact that it is speed plus keyboard function plus easy to config with vi(m). Doing a lot of media work I don't want WM overhead to be a slow down. Plus I am just used to it. I will say though I don't always use a Desktop Environment but when I do, it is KDE.

Double check the part numbers against the manufactures website. I have noticed that some e-bay sellers are sloppy about cut-and-pasting incorrect specifications into their descriptions.
D'oh.. one more edit after looking at some batteries on the web: Probably pairs of lithium cells in series for something like 11 volts and 14 volts.. still the same math more volts at the same Ah gives you more watt-hours and more run time.
