    Rest in peace Steve!

It's sad to see anyone go, but even more sadness adds to the whole picture
is when someone that has been an innovator and an inventor, that actually made
    a change in technology.

    R.I.P Steve

He didn't see his life flash before his eyes because it wasn't supported.

I never really liked Apple products and I find the way that apple has been worshipped to be a bit weird - but it's still sad that he should die.
To be fair, it's sad that anyone dies but that's just the way it happens sometimes :/

I am not a big fan boy of apple, but I do like some of their design elements. Steve Jobs was instrumental in the shape the GUI interface world took over the computer boom of the past 20 years. Not just in apple computers.

It's sad to see anyone die, especially from cancer. Having watched my grandmother fade away over a few years from cancer, I really feel for his family and friends.

That being said, he lived an awesome life. I could only hope to live to experience and do 1% of what he accomplished. He wasn't perfect, but none of us are. He is the epitome of the american spirit. A rough start, going at it his own way, doing what he wanted and convincing millions of others that his ideas and products are what they need. He was the consummate capitalist, a free-thinker yet as conniving and controlling as any other shrewd businessman. He put a good face on business and created some magical devices. He will be missed, but what everyone fears is that there won't be someone else to provide them with inspiration in our otherwise dull and dreary lives.

I know for me it brought back quite a few emotions I've buried from my grandmother, but at the same time it is comforting. We only get one shot to make a difference. Don't get all caught up in being larger than life, most of us have people all around us who we make a difference for each and every day. I'm thankful that my late teenage kids give me a hug every night and tell me they love me. He died with friends and family, other than for selfish reasons, how can we really be sad?

An excerpt from an article at Time Magazine:

The former Apple chief (and indeed many other top technology pioneers) appeared to have found enduring inspiration in LSD. Research shows that the psychedelic experience is, in fact, long lasting: a new study published last week found that people who took magic mushrooms (psilocybin) had long-term personality changes, becoming more open, more curious, more intellectually engaged and more creative. These personality shifts persisted more than a year after taking the drugs.

[EDIT: I thought it was an interesting article, but don't take it as an endorsement for using drugs.]

Finding Steve Jobs' funeral will not be easy for Westboro Baptist Church

                        NEWJERSEYNEWSROOM.COM

Margie Phelps of the controversial Westboro Baptist Church says her members plan to be picketing at Steve Jobs funeral, but they may have run into a little problem. They might need to find it first.

Funeral arrangements for Jobs may not be released to the public, according to Politics and Computers, due to apparently legitimate fears that the event could turn into a media circus.
