    I'm getting a radio show.

Sort of randomly fell into my lap, but a local radio station my friend works at needed to fill in a bunch of blocks for their web station, so him and I are going to be doing a radio show or two. If things go according to plan, we'll be doing a three hour block of some of the lesser known psychedelic bands from around the world. Now that communications major I didn't do is finally paying off.

Hey bro that's awesome. My wife and I had a radio show for a while on the web. It was like from 4-7pm on Sundays ha was fun we did interviews and shit. We played all types of music mostly focusing on Freestyle. Like Snusdog said I'd love to listen and call in. Let is know the details and break a leg.

We haven't worked out a specific day yet (there's a couple of slots on different days they're filling), but I've been told we'll probably be doing a 9PM-Midnight EST slot. It will be a web-based show, so you guys should be able to listen in, and call in if you want. I don't know about The Carpenters, though. To give you guys an idea, here's a couple of bands that'd be pretty typical of what we're looking to play.

Basically going to try and focus on good bands that most people won't hear about, and save them the effort of trawling through hundreds of pages of books and forums in order to catch an off-hand reference to a band that had great songs, but never really made it. From top to bottom on the videos, Les Rallizes Dénudés (Japan), Ros Sereysothea (Cambodia), PYG (Japan), and Jóhann Jóhannson (Iceland). We'll also be trying to focus on groups outside the US/UK, since a lot of the great groups from those countries managed to get well known enough that it's none too hard to find out about them.

When we finally get things sorted, I'll update with a link to the show, and day/time we'll be on. Unfortunately, it's a flash-based web-player that doesn't provide any obvious url for the stream, but the people who dislike having to leave the extra browser window open to listen probably won't have too hard a time figuring out how to get their hands on the direct link for a streamtheworld feed. I don't know if I'd say this is the birth of a star, but it's a job I'd be happy enough to toil away at in obscurity for as long as I can. Depending on how many takers they have for shows, my friend and I might also do a couple others if they need us to, though we've not discussed what else we'd do yet. I'm thinking a classical show would be ace, as I'd love getting paid to get my Prokofiev fix, but that might not be the sort of money-maker the station is looking for.

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

the interviews were ok but the commercials sucked big time.

Aw, I'd love to listen in.. Though I'm not exactly much for that kind of music
Get up a podcast for download and I'll listen - but otherwise the timing probably doesn't fit
