Knob Creek, and Blantons are pretty damned tasty :^) bourbon doesn't sit well on my stomach, so I don't drink a lot, but I like a good bourbon on occasion.
I've heard good things of Knob Creek as well. Another affordable brand I like is Crown Royal. Haven't even heard of Blanton's.

Thanks for the link. Those are some interesting looking bottles. I'll have to hit up my local liquor supplier and see if they carry Blanton's, because now I'm curious about it.

My brother loves Makers, but I've always prefered Jim Beam myself.

Lagavulin is def my favorite too. It's really peaty because it's an Islay style malt. as opposed to speyside, highland or lowland ect..

@yummy4tunecookie: Did you meanwhile try any of our recommendations? Or did you have a chance to ask your (ex) date what whisky it has been? I'm eager to hear your feedback (with all the details 8) )

Here's another vote for Lagavulin, although it isn't right for every occasion and type of food. My regular mainstay lately has been the Glenmorangie 10 year, it's priced nicely and despite being matured for 10 years is more complex than many 12 year olds. I like their different cask flavors very much also. I'm also a fan of some of the highland malts like Oban. Back to the Islay malts IMO they can't be beaten alongside Gotlands Gul. The earthy flavors of both really go well together.

Best whisky i think i've ever had was 15 yr old Dimple, but that was a gift and i'm not particularly fond of whisky anyway. Though if I've had a few beers a nice bells or famous grouse goes down well.

Does anyone have any specific whiskey/snus combinations that they really like? I'm pretty new to snus, but really like my General portions with a nice glass of Jameson. They seem to go GREAT together.

yummy4tunecookie: sounds like you had Cutty Sark; it's the only widely-available Scotch I know of that has that buttery caramel flavor you mentioned. Most other "tavern" Scotch has an over-pronounced "smoky" taste to it.

My favorite Scotch has always been hands down Cutty Sark. I've tried two hundred dollar bottles of Glen_______ (fill in the blank as they all taste like crud to me) but Cutty has that perfect balanced taste, caramel-ly malt, with vanilla overtones that isn't bitter or dry going down. I fell in love with Cutty when I was 18 and though I rarely drink anymore, when I sit down to enjoy the occasional drink it's always scotch and it's always Cutty Sark.

I'm still awaiting my first order from buysnus, anyone have a good Scotch/snus reccomendation?

Connemera single malt Peated Irish whiskey and Tre Ankre. Awesome. Bushmills single malt Irish whiskey and Goteborgs Rape. Superb.
