lol what dude? That, my friend, is most certainly the problem! Stop doing those things alone and you are sure to see some positive results across the board.

Sgreger I wouldn't worry about getting your systolic down to 100. 120 is considered optimal with 80 being optimal for the diastolic

Yah it's become a running joke at my house because for some reason I just get the hankering for a midnight snack every day and now i've become accustomed to eating in the bed right before I fall asleep. We call it my "weight loss pizza" which I eat every night, but recently it's turned into grilled cheese sandwiches instead lol. I think that is like 90% of the problem ahahahaha.

Also, when eating a pizza, be it delivery or digiorno, I make a bowl of melted butter with garlic salt cooked in (ala Papa Johns garlic sauce) and dip my pizza in it. That's right, I dip my pizza in a bowl of melted butter.

I think it's small changes to these routines that will help me get over this. Don'tcha think? lololol.

You are insane. I would be paying more attention to cholesterol at your stage in the game lol. Don't you feel like shit in the morning? What about heartburn? Jesus Christ man.

Actually I just got a blood panel yesterday and surprisingly I am well within the healthy range on everything but my blood pressure. Cholesterol is great, triglycerides are fantastic etc. Looks like I just need to eat less salt and probably move around a little more.

ya know.....if you have to eat that pizzia in bed before you go to sleep you might want to finish it up and roll over and give the wife a lil workout.
That will be good for both of you.

.........so now that this thread has touched all topics....

Sgreger did you ever figure out what you are going to do with that $? Where to invest it? If you are thinking about it and your chest starts to tighten up we can talk about something else.

                    just saying

Well we havn't decided yet. Still looking into things and I have to sort of juggle what I do short term with our long term plans which are still murky, there are several options but each have advantages/disadvantages. Staying liquid for the moment. Considering buying a house some time later this year but still uncertain (the $20k would not be for the house, we would use seperate money for that).

My wife got sick though, she is in the ICU with a really bad infection. She's been there since Monday and will stay there for most of the week, she almost died on Monday evening and if we hadn't been at the hospital that would have been it for her. It struck out of nowhere and she's still not out of the woods yet. The bill is about $30,000 a day xroughyl 7 days, but luckily I have great insurance so I pay only $200. But she will be on disability since she will be off work all montha nd that is going to put us in a tough spot financially until she starts getting regular checks again. Ironic to because she just got promoted and got a raise, but the raise elevated us to just above the next tax bracket and we lost all of our exemptions etc and are taking home about the same as we were before she was promoted lol. Damn progressive tax system sucks man, right now I will lose several thousand dollars if I make $1 more an hour because we are juuuuust under the line to where we can still claim 2 exemptions for our kid, but next year we will be over the line and those exemptions too will be lost (child tax credit counts as 2 exemptions per every 1 kid).

Anyways, so wife is sick as hell and i've just been staying with her the last few days, this is my first day back at work. Sucks because she was just injured in the car accident only a few months ago and was off work 2 months during that whole ordeal, comes back to work and is immediately promoted, and now back off work for a month lol.

Short reply. Holy crap I'm sorry I asked.

Long reply. Dam I hope shes doing better. I had noticed you haven't been around very much and was wondering if everything was ok. Apparently not tho. Man I'm sorry for all the crap. But thats what life is all about it seems. One hardship after another. Its really hard to get ahead these days especially with our governments involvement. Once your wife gets better things will turn around for you. I'd say you are in pretty good shape still, with the exception of your wife illness.

I've invested a bit in gold and a bunch more stocks and today I made a deposit into my scottrade account because I've been waiting for goldcorp to get below $45 a share so I can buy, it almost did today. Maybe tomorrow. $45 would be cheap as its been hovering at about $53 lately. Not sure what to do tho. My nephew handles only one client and that client is worth over 1 billion. They are both in chicago. I think I'm going to talk to him. Anything his client decides to do with his investments can be some helpfull info for me....if you know what I mean. Either way the nephew really knows his shit so I think I better talk to him. But I have an appointment with my IRA guy in about 10 days.

This all really sucks. You make money...the government takes it away. Or you need it for medical or other bills and it dwindles to nothing. Can't seem to make any money to speak of in the stock market. All I know is that I can make a ton of coin breeding birds and the doctor says I need to stop breeding, move, get my affairs in order, etc. So the little money I have now I have to protect and try to invest it properly so I don't lose it and maybe ....just maybe make a bit.

I'll say a prayer for your wife mate. After that......

......looks for a rusty razor blade

Update, turns out she has MRSA (pronounced Mursa), the antibiotic resistant superbug you hear about on the news every now and again. It kills more people that AIDS each year so not very excited to hear this news. She is doing okay for now though, I think she's out of the woods but it'll still be a few more days.

As for the money and investment, I, like any sound investor, am instead taking time to learn as much as I can before spending any money. I'll update later when I have more computer time but that's the short answer for now.

I am really glad she is still with you. I know this must have been an incredibly stressful time for you and the family. Hopefully those kinks will be sorted out in no time and she will be back home soon.
