    Jump! Jump!

I don't count. I do everything on my DROID. Haven't used a real computer in like two years. I when print my google docs via bluetooth and store everything in the cloud. I also stream all of my music through spotify.

Beg all you want chad but face it all Macs are ... are PC's in shiny coatings running a different OS and less mouse (like the keyboard tho) .. you could build your own pc (much much cheaper) and run mac OS on it

Ok, I don't pretend to know alot about computers. I really don't, but all I've ever heard is that apple computers are for guay people. I'm not sure if that is the case for all apple products but thats what everybody tells me about the apple computer.

not that theres anything wrong with that.

        carry on

PP, I don't if they're made for gay people per sey but I know three gay guys and they all have Macs. Coincidence? I have a mate that told me if I get a mini cooper I'll hit the trifecta. Cat + Mac + MiniCooper = Totally Gay......not that there's anything wrong with that

Well I've decided I'm stuck with the thing. It's all good, I'm an IT guy so it's good to learn new systems. Apple makes excellent products and they are more forward-thinking than most computer companies.

And for all you PC haters....

              1. Everything PC doesn't suck, Everything Mac isn't great.
              2. If you know what you're doing, PCs offer computing possibilities and flexibility not found on a Mac
              3. Put down the Kool-Aid; sugar is bad for you. At my work we use Windows, various Linux flavors, and OS X. We do this because each has it's own niche. If we only used one and hated the others we would severely limit our possibilities and our patrons would suffer due to our prejudice.

Sorry to be bitchy but I deal with haters all damn day, every day

I guess I'm full-on then as I love minis. A friend has one and I beg her to let me drive every time were out and about. It's an awesome driving car and you can get into trouble if you're not careful. Nimble doesn't quite cover it.

Now that you have it might as well keep it. I will tell you this, it will probably last you a good long time. Mac useful life tends to exceed most Windows PC's. Linux on the other hand, well depends on the distro and user. At the end I like Mac OS over Windows because in my perfect world all OS's are *nix based which the Mac is. There are actually projects that bring the full realm of the BSD ports tree into Mac OS. I am a big fan of the ports system. I use FreeBSD for my server OS of choice.

The imac with that beautiful 27" screen is a thing of beauty. If I had the money to throw around I would get one.

To me there are only really two choices for home that make me happy, Linux/BSD or Mac. I use Linux and BSD as I have more time than money to tweak my computers to do what I want to do. I maintain a Windows partition here and there to deal with peripheral hardware compatability issues or software that just does not do well under wine or need more horsepower than a VirtualBox session allows. Mostly it comes down to the hardware issue though. If I ever went Mac I would be doing two things, being able to completely be rid of Windows, and I would be trading money for my time tweaking to make Linux do what I want.

Example I use Arch linux, the install is not for the newbie and then I had to configure mine for realtime operation for music production.

Don't even get me started on a full BSD configuration since I do everything from the ports tree on BSD which means I am compiling everything from source.

                          I have a cat, but I also have Rottie's
No Prius, I do have a Rendezvous, but also an E-150 and a Harley
                          No Macs...but would get one.

I think I am in the clear... that should make my wife happy.

Although once in a while I hum a show tune, but I still dislike Streisand, should I worry?!?

A Harley is the trump card. Not even Streisand can beat it. But if you wear leathers a la Rob Halford then all bets are off...

When it is cold enough chaps and my flannel lined jeans. Most of the time though jeans and my cut... maybe a flannel under the cut.

It is an older Evo at that, which reminds me I still have to deal with the solonoid on it.

In addition to MacPorts there is also Fink which brings apt to OSX.
