I got it at Midnight release on Thursday evening, took off friday and Monday and had my wife visit her mom over the weekend. I've logged ~40 hours so far between Thursday night and the end of yesterday. This is the best game ever made for Xbox IMO. I was a HUGE fan of Oblivion and the Fallout series, and this game took the best of both worlds and combined them into a truly epic game.
I'm at level 20 and have played nonstop for 4 consecutive days, and I have only barely scratched the surface. I have like 100 quests active and i've only visited a few of the cities. This game is HUGE. 300-400 hours of gameplay wouldn't surprise me.
I'm playing as an Orc (that berseker perk is the best imo, when you get to a tough enemy it really helps out). I am playing mainly as a Mage. I never choose mage in these kinds of games, as i'm usually just a melee warrior type, but the magic here has a huge benefit. I don't even wear armor, only clothes that are enchanted with things to increase my magica, reduce the magica cost of casting spells, or makes magica regen faster. They all have 0 armor rating. I'm practically invincible though even with the difficulty turned up. Can you say FLAMETHROWER HANDS anyone? Because that's how I roll everywhere, no sheild or any of that. I have 1 Melee Glass Mace that does like 39 damage, and the rest of the time it's all magic. Even those giants can't stand up against me.
For those who hate that you can only run for a few seconds before the stamina bar depletes, mage is the route for you (or at least learn restoration magic). One of the perks for restoration magic is that the heal spells also refill the stamina bar. The heal spells take almsot no magica so I can run full sprint across the map without taking a break by just casting heal every time the stamina bar gets low. So I can heal everywhere in a jiffy and also run wherever I want without ever runing out of stamina, totally worth it. Also helps when ina fight because you can refil your stamina and health with the left hand and then use the melee weapon fo your choosing in the right hand.
Also, what's up with these "Shouts"? They seem entirely innefective, they don't do much damage and haven't been of any help to me. I don't use any of them except for the whirlwind sprint one. I've only found a few but so far I am uninterested in them as my regular magic is way better.
If anyone wants to know any tips or tricks or is curious about anything in the game, let me know, as I am slowly learning everything about this awesome game.
I am going to be playing this all year, all other games are on the shelf until I do every single question (well except the "infinite quests" that the game generates, as those are mostly bounty or fetch missions from what I gather). So far i've almost completed the thieves guild and the Champions Guild questline.
Well... I've been spending A LOT of the past couple of days playing Skyrim, and it's simply amazing! There are so many unique locations to discover and many exciting side-quests as well! I especially like the reintroduction of Dwemers as they have always interested me quite a lot. I play as an Orc Warrior with 2 weapons and heavy armor. But 2 weapons have one major problem - you can't block.. And with out that sort of defense if you encounter some enemies you can't kill in the first 2-3 tries you have to give up, since all you can do is bash and bash and bash.
I've completed all of the "The Companions" missions and are helping the rebels, and I simply must ask ; Why make the ones with the good cause such major douchebags? I mean I'm beginning to hate them for their personalities but I like their cause!
And some of the shouts can be quite useful.. I like the starting one, the one that knocks them back. I usually just use it to throw people of cliffs or down stairs, but it kills them.
I'm only growing one type of seed this year. I wanted a seed that would grow well for my location. As much as I want to grow a Burley or Dark Air Cured...
Rejoice, brothers! File sharing is now an official religion in Sweden. For real. It took two years, but it's done: it's called the Missionary Church...
