I just have to smile and shake my head in wonder at you folks who rush through a game, then suffer the inevitable post-game blues. I'll bet when you were a kid, you ate every bit of your Halloween candy as soon as you got home from trick-or-treating, ended up with a bellyache, and spent the next few days glowering at those of us who slowly savored every bite of our stashes.Ah, well, to each his own, I suppose.
I got my copy of Skyrim today. I haven't installed it yet -- I started a new character in Oblivion (Bosmer, custom class mage/archer/assassin) not long ago, and I'm hoping to actually finish the main quest this time before starting Skyrim. I have a feeling, however, that my self-discipline won't hold out that long. But at least I have some self-discipline. ;-P

I downloaded via Steam the night before release...and had taken the week after that off of work, BEFORE I knew that Skyrim was to release on 11/11, seriously.
I play an Imperial, as I did in both Morrowind and Oblivion. I can't seem to unequivocally take a side between the Nords and the Empire in the civil war, even if the Empire did try to chop my head off in the beginning. Both sides make very good points. But the Aldmeri Dominion really makes me nervous.
I specialize in the Thief side of things, with enough Warrior-type skills to hold my own, and enough Magic to be dangerous with a fireball.
I figured that Skyrim would at least be on par with Oblivion.......but boy oh boy was I mistaken. This is, by far, the deepest, most massive, most epic game I have ever played, period. It is worth the $60 price tag and then some. Buy it for yourself as a Christmas present. You deserve it.

This is just another Dragon Warrior/Final Fantasy type game that the old Dungeons and Dragons nerds will flock to and spend their time masturbating with instead of getting a girlfriend. Totally unrealistic, killing dragons, playing as trolls/gnomes/orcs and wondering around attacking random fake enemies. I'm really surprised that this genre hasn't died out by now because it's always the same. Build up hit points, get weapons, and kill fake enemies.... Always the same.
I, for one, will avoid this game at all costs. Besides (and I'm surprised PP hasn't brought this up) Skyrim sounds like a new version of the mile-high club. "Honey, why don't you let me skyrim you in the airplane bathroom?" Skyrimming. The new tossed salad.

I guess when the rest of us plays you are watching Dr. Phil. Or Oprah. Or any shit that comes from your TV. People can play normally, instead of doing it all the time
