There is a good series on History channel called Vietnam in HD. Despite the cheesy title it's a great series. I've watched a few installments so far. My knowledge of the Vietnam war was very minimal. The war is told through the folks that were there through rare home movies and archival footage. Set your DVR for it if you have an interest, I think you all will enjoy it.

My father did 4 years in the Ait Force. He just got out when the war started thankfully. My father in law is actually a Vietnam vet. He served in the Marines.

I agree. They touch on the politics, but emphasize more on the guys that were there. That didn't have a choice. What they really went through in that hell hole.
