Eric! Stay Away From Target - Could Happen at Walmart too!!!

A 61-year-old man collapsed and later died while doing some Black Friday shopping in West Virginia, yet nearby bargain hunters continued to shop, some even stepping over his body, according to local reports.
Walter Vance collapsed in Target just after midnight Friday, local station WSAZ-TV reported. One witness told the station fellow shoppers, seemingly unconcerned, simply walked around him.
An ER nurse and an off-duty paramedic who happened to be among the crowd eventually assisted Vance and tried to administer CPR before an ambulance arrived. He died later in the hospital.
Vance, a pharmacist, had reportedly had heart problems for years, though did not complain of any pain beforehand. He had gone to Target shop for Christmas decorations.
“Where is the good Samaritan side of people?” his co-worker and friend Sue Compton told WSAZ. “How could you not notice someone was in trouble? I just don‘t understand if people didn’t help what their reason was, other than greed because of a sale.”
But despite those reports, Vance’s wife told the Charleston Gazette that at least several other people, including more nurses, did try to help her husband: In addition to CPR, one woman fished Vance’s cell phone out of his pocket to call his wife and tell her what had happened.
Target has not yet responded to media inquiries about Vance’s death.

I have a feeling there is another side to this story that we are not hearing. I really doubt people would continue to shop and step over a man having a heart attack.

My name is Eric, and as such, it was weird to read this in the Latest Threads...

I was out and about at 11:30 PM Thanksgiving Day, so I did check out a few midnight-opening Black Friday lines. It was crazy; I'm glad there was nothing on sale that I wanted/needed this year.

Thanks for the warning friend! I feel bad for the gentleman, who knows if he would of survived if he received help in time. People are selfish and cruel at times. Vegan bro sad to say but there are people like that in the world. I believe the story.

I hate people, most of them couldn't give a shit about their fellow human being. And look at all the animal cruelity in the world.

                    .....waits for vegans response
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

There were people trying to help him and the Target employees closed the aisle while people were working on him.

                        From your article..

"A witness told WSAZ.com some shoppers didn't have any concern for Vance, but there were others who did try to step in and help."

I'm refering to the shoppers that didn't have concern.

"I didn't see anyone walking by him, anyone that was heartless," Rowland said. "Maybe that happened right before I got to him, but when I got to him he was getting help. We were doing everything we could for him, ya know I would hate for that to be the last image or the last thoughts they had of him that no one would help."

That lady got there when he was getting help. How long was he there before then? She got there at the end of the ordeal.

Precisely my thinking as well. I have no trouble believing people were way too eager to shop and get in on the "deals" to worry about a man collapsed on the floor. Some people may not have noticed, some may not have wanted to get involved. The general public are mostly greedy mother****ers who will not hesitate to punch a child in the throat for $25 off an iPod. It's really a shame.

@lxskllr - That video is really shocking. I couldn't believe when the truck just kept going after hitting the child... they did it slowly too, that would freakin' hurt! Then another damn truck comes and makes sure her legs are broken! I didn't think that many people would ignore a 2 year old lying in the street mangled and bleeding. I think the Chinese may be worse than Americans now, that's really saying something too.

One thing I have learned in years of having to deal with the news media.....sometimes they are creative with their presentations of the facts. In other words.....they lie. (Not all of them but enough to make me cynical)

I suspect there was some of both types of people here. Those that helped and those that stepped over....

I prefer creative rather than lie; however, I agree with your suspicion.
