Yeah well, this is not a real rally car, it is meant for "every-mans" races, where every street legal car can race. It has no safety features like roll cage, racing seats etc. But Audi, that doesn't dominate rally, Subaru Imprezas, Mitsubishi EVOs are the most common real rally cars.
Oh yeah the old Group B Quattros were great! Ford RS200, MG Metro, Peugeot 205, all of these were wonder- and powerful ones. Nowadays, the World Rally Championship is dominated by Ford Fiestas and Citroen DS3
Fiestas, yes I have seen the new models but the thoughts of race dominating Fiestas and thinking back to the models from many years ago, well it just makes my head hurt.
Truth is I kind of like the new Fiestas. I have been thinking about an econo box car for better MPG. Some thing I could just squeeze me an my bass rig in and grab the buick or the van for bigger gigs. But most of those vehicles at 6'5" I would have to kick my own ass for driving one. If mpg is that important on a given day then I will ride the Harley, like I did today.
Big crash in Rally Madona in Latvia, latvian co-driver Igor Bartaščenoks was killed in fatal accident. Also confirmed that Lithuanian rally pair Rocks Kvaracejs and Audris Šoss were both taken into hospital and one of them is in ICU but their life is not in danger (picture of their car can be found here: https://twitter.com/Go4speedLV/statu...150656/photo/1 ) . Sad day for Baltic rally drivers and fans. R.I.P
Yet another race done, Läänemaa every mans rally this time, 6th in my class, 53rd overall. All the videos are on that same channel, if intresteg go and check them out.
PS these videos are for you Lx, views of Estonian countryside
Ok, the 2012 season is finished, our final places were 7th in Moskvich Big Cup, 9th in Moskvich Rally Cup and 7th in Moskvich Sprint Cup. For a first full season I am happy, the car lacks speed but we'll try to do something with that during offseason. Also few more intresting offers for next year, but will show them when they are 100% sure.
Also would like to mention some of the companies who helped us during the season alot: Premium7, Lepiku Auto, AER Autoservice, Värvaltrans OÜ, Gotlandssnus AB, Beemedia and Texaco.
