Christmas is a good time to kick some money over to the people who produce things you value. Browser addons, free software, fighting for your rights... a little bit can go a long way if enough people participate. Maybe take $20, and spread it around. $2 for a browser addon, $5 for a music player... It all helps, and lets the developers know their work is appreciated. I already sent $5 to the developer of DeaDBeeF, my favorite GNU/Linux music player, and I bought the Humble Indie Bundle which supports charity, and indie game developers. I'm also considering some of these...

Mozilla - Champions of the open web. They almost singlehandedly wrestled the web away from Microsoft. It would likely be a very different internet today if not for Mozilla.

Wikipedia - A great resource, I use all the time. They get all their funding through donations, and run an ad free site out of principle.

Another way of support is buying crap from them. I'd like a stuffed gnu signed by RMS. I think they'd do that if I asked, but I don't really have that much money. It would still be cool though, and I may do it.
Anyway, give it some thought. If everyone left it for "the other guy", these great resources could cease to exist.
