First Lady Requests to Be Addressed as “Your Excellency”

First Lady Michelle Obama expressed a desire that heretofore, those wishing to speak to her address her as “Your Excellency.” Apprised that the nation’s first president, George Washington rebuffed attempts to address him as “Your Excellency” in favor of the simpler band more modest “Mr. President,” the First Lady responded that “since Washington didn’t rank among our top presidents maybe he didn’t feel so excellent.”
It was just a few weeks ago that Michelle’s husband, President Barack Obama, ranked himself as the nation’s fourth best President—behind only Lyndon Johnson, Franklin Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. George Washington didn’t even qualify for an “honorable mention.”

If I were to speak to her......I prefer the term...."Hey bitch"
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

I'm sorry but maybe wa3zrm could make his own news thread under "People and the world around us" section. I got nothing against him or the news he posts, some are really funny, but I'm afraid lot of more useful info fades into darkness, if there's a thread for every single article...

She had to be kidding. If she wasn't, and the story is true, then our "excellent" first lady is a stupefyingly clueless buffoon.

I'd take that story with a healthy semi trailer load of skepticism. It smells like bullshit to me.

I'm going to have to agree with lx on that. I'd also second (or third? Not sure if Eric was onboard or just commenting about his situation) kevinatest's suggestion. Looking, most of these threads seem to fade into oblivion after 3-5 replies, and you do start a lot of them. Like kevinatest, nothing against you, but sometimes these threads have proved a minor nuisance for me when they're four or five of them in the newest replies section and I'm trying to see what's going on in the various sub-forums real quick. Of course, there must be some people who really like them, or you wouldn't get any replies to all of them like you do.

                Edit: PP beat me.

It was a joke from a kid's sitcom. And she didn't make the comment about George Washington. (I would think it was obvious that was put in the article as satire...)

Fox News and azconservative are great sources if you need information about the world ending in 2012 or how evil boogeymen are lurking around every corner just waiting to commit a terrorist act or take away your gun.

I am not so sure on this. 1/2 of what WA3RZM is some conservative crap that has no basis in reality. The other 1/2 is some cynical crap that applies to .00001% of the population. On the other hand, I love the freedom that members have on this forum and think that should be upheld regardless of the content. Maybe, he can be encouraged to have his own thread but I don't think we should demand it. Every now and then I do see an interesting article and I like reading cynical stuff anyway.

Yeah. I'm just not buying it. Sounds like something my dad would be up in arms about. AKA: bullshit.

I don't really care what wa3rzm is posting. The majority of the time I just ignore it as non-news or something silly, and don't bother reading them while I go about my day. But every day he posts 3-5 (hard to get good numbers, because for some reason click "show recently started threads" doesn't sort them by date...) threads a day. When I posted my first post, out of the first page of People and World Around Us, 16 of those threads were his. Of these, only 6 even got more that 5 replies. Ultimately, it's his call, but I think this might be something better suited for a single thread like Eric's. Those who want to read wa3rzm's topics have it all conveniently organised for them, and the rest of us have a few less topics to wade through to get to what we want to look at.
