They were even more Ruthless back in Washington's day.

I think our bar should be set higher, of course. Like I said previously I think what these privates did was deplorable. Even when you are in the business of soldiering you can never lose sight of the fact that you are taking another man's life. Once he has fallen, there is no reason to further desecrate his body, there is no honor in it. I'm just saying that we can't pretend like the other side does any better. You were alluding to the fact that if their side did it the media wouldn't report the same as they do now but I disagree.

You missed the point. I was not talking about what "they" did, I was talking about Washington himself. Google it, you might learn something about another man's bravery and honor. While you're "just saying that we can't pretend like the other side does any better" I think that to be completely irrelevant to the question as to how your "side" acts.

I don't know why you think I was saying anything about the media, I was speaking of the citizenry. Basically, the ones that jump up and down and support all kinds of deviltry committed by their "side" while condemning in the harshest terms those committed by the other "side". My apologies for not being clearer.

Dana Loesch on Marines Urinating on Taliban Corpses: 'I'd Drop Trousers and do it too'

Dana LoEsch, a CNN contributor and conservative radio host, said on her show that she thinks the Marines who were videoed urinating on Taliban corpses are cool and that she wants "a million cool points for these guys." Loesch is also the editor-in-chief of Big Journalism, a conservative Web site and the co-founder of the St. Louis Tea Party.

The Huffington Post reported that the Riverfront Times said that Loesch left the group in December.
Loesch played a news clip explaining that the U.S. military is investigating the video that shows what appears to be Marines urinating on the dead body of Taliban soldiers in Afghanistan. The news reporter said the video was uploaded to several sites including YouTube and could be another blow for U.S., which has been caught up in previous scandals.

I'm pretty indifferent about the whole thing. It's war, and they were already dead. AFAIC, they were exercising their free expression.

I am not sure who Dana Loesch is but I have an idea of how she operates. We oppose abortion, respect life and uphold Christain values but screw you if you ever need help with your medical needs or try to get livable wages from your job. We will also bend over backwards to protect the wealthy even at the expense of the poor or middle class. We do this in the hope that we may get lucky and win the lottery one day. We also love to bitch about debt especially when we are spending money.

That's the problem with a lot of conservatives in this country, they simply do not care what you or any other country thinks. Their mentality is "We'll do whatever it takes to 'get the job done', and piss on everyone else if they don't like it."

Okay I think we are both advocating the same thing here. I said that we should take the moral high road because that is just how civilized people should act. But I was also pointing out that we can't pretend that we aren't already several levels above how they treat anyone they capture/kill. Frankly pissing on a dead corpse is humane considering how the opposing force acts but like I said, we are both advocating that our side should set the bar higher.

A smart soldier would have drawn "**** the government" with his piss, then at the trial claim that it was speech protected under the 1st amendment

Conservatives make up less than 42% of the country. This is a problem with Americans in general.

So true that there are cameras everywhere. I was on international news back in October when we got blown up. As for what these guys did... Completely unnecessary, but 100% understood. When I had to scrape body parts of the asshole that blew us up off the street after treating my own, I would have liked to shove the amputated leg straight up his ass (granted there was no ass left). War is war. If pissing on the ****er who just tried to kill you will help you sleep at night, by all means.

See, Xobelote understands what's happening here. We back at home can all agree it is amoral/sucky, but when you'r out ther e in the suck, fighting these ****ers and watching them kill your close friends, you can't really help but not care. When I was in I would have done more than piss on them, I think that while on an inteluctual level it is wrong, on a soldier level... well, war is war as he put it, you don't really care. Pissing on someone is not even close to the horrors you witness on a regular basis, you become desencitized to the BS, and it starts not to matter.
