Half-naked UC Santa Barbara student arrested on suspicion of assaulting pastor

22-year-old UC Santa Barbara student was arrested Saturday after, authorities say, he punched a pastor in the face more than 30 times in what officials believe was a random attack.
The incident began when Father Jon-Stephen Hedges heard a knock at his front door in the 6800 block of Fortuna Road at about 2:15 a.m. Saturday, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office said in a statement. A man, later identified as Paul Gusman, was calling for help and throwing his body against the door, officials said.
Fearing that someone was in trouble, Hedges opened his door. Gusman, who was naked from the waist down, then forced his way into the home and assaulted the pastor, authorities said.
The pastor was hit more than 30 times in the face and his wife was struck on her right hand, according to the Sheriff's Office. The pastor's wife managed to call 911 and when sheriff's deputies arrived, they found Gusman standing in the front yard.
The suspect appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance and possibly intoxicated, officials said. He was arrested and treated at a local hospital for an injury to his hand that he sustained during the attack.

Bible-wielding woman marches through Target protesting bathroom policy

A video of a woman and her family marching through Target loudly protesting the retailer’s news bathroom policy has gone viral.
The video was uploaded to YouTube and shows an unidentified woman marching and yelling her way through a Target and holding a Bible in the air as she condemns Target’s new gender identity bathroom policy.
The woman, who claims she is a mother of 12, began her protest by shouting Target’s Mothers Day signs are “a deception” and Target does not love mothers and children.

Tied in heat all day, angry camel severs owner’s head

JAISALMER: Left in the heat with its legs tied all day, a camel attacked its owner and severed his head in anger in Rajasthan's Barmer district on Saturday. About 25 villagers struggled for 6 hours to calm the animal down.
Urjaram of Mangta village was entertaining guests at his house on Saturday night when he suddenly realised that his camel had been out in the heat all day with its legs tied. He was attacked when he tried to untie the annoyed animal.
"The animal lifted him by the neck and threw him on to the ground, chewed the body and severed the head," villager Thakara Ram said. Villagers revealed that the camel had attacked Urjaram in the past as well.

Introduction :
Saint Bridget, daughter of Birgir -- Royal Blood Prince of Sweden was born about the year 1302 of highly pious parents.
Having lost her virtuous mother soon after birth, little Bridget was raised by one of her highly virtuous aunts.
She could not speak before the age of 3, but as soon as she spoke, she began praising God.
In early childhood, serious discourses on Religion pleased her and grace powerfully filled her heart so that only pious readings attracted her.
At the age of 10, she was particularly touched by a sermon she heard on the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
The following night she, believed that she saw Our Lord nailed to the Cross and all covered with Blood and Wounds.
At the same time, she heard a voice saying : "Look upon Me, My daughter."
"O Dear Lord asked Saint Bridget, "Who has treated You so cruelly ??
Our Lord Jesus Christ replied :"Those who despise Me and are insensitive to My Love for them."
That Mysterious dream left so deep an impression on her, that from then on she continually meditated on the sufferings of Our Lord Jesus Christ which drove her to tears.
At the age of 15, through obedience she was married to Prince Ulf -- a very pious young man and they had eight children. One of her daughters became Saint Catherine of Sweden.
Conclusion :
Saint Bridget's example more than her instructions sanctified her large family. Her "Revelations" and other celestial favors made her all the more fervent and humble.
Saint Bridget died at Rome in 1373 after having returned from a pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
Saint Bridget practiced "Mental Prayer" and meditated often on the Life and Sufferings of Our Lord Jesus Christ throughout the Year.
Saint Bridget founded the Brigittines.
Saint Bridget of Sweden canonized on October 7, 1391 by Pope Boniface the Ninth is particularly popular in Scandinavia, Germany, Poland, and Hungary.
The Feast of Saint Bridget of Sweden is celebrated on July 23.

Central Florida Deputies Search For Owner of 600-Pound Hog Found Roaming Streets

Deputies in Florida are searching for the owner of a 600-pound hog that was found roaming around.
Local news organizations report that Alachua County deputies found the domestic hog Sunday after getting reports of the animal running at large.
Deputies caught the hog using a rope and took it to the Alachua County Sheriff's Office Livestock Impound.
The sheriff's office said in a news release that the 600-pound Hampshire hog appeared to be in good health.
The animal will be put up for auction if its owner doesn't claim it.
Anyone with additional information is asked to contact officials.
