The issue is people are trying to use courts. You use a rifle to deal with people like that. $100,000 is a vast fortune for an African, but easy for westerners to raise. I think $100,000 would get his head delivered anywhere you wanted.

The problem is that this organsation actually use 32% of the donations to help, while supporting the army in Uganda which are known for raping and looting. I'm sure that's not really the right way to go...

Don't give any money to that bullshit organization. The money they get goes to Ugandas military (32% of the total profit as Bluesaint wrote - non-profit organisation, yeah right) - which also has children soldiers. Stop sharing that link and stop funding those hypocrites.

Watching that Kony video is essentially watching old news. They started filming in 2003, and northern Uganda has been free of LRA violence and war for over five years (since the LRA signed the peace accord). Recruitment of children has decreased 80%.

This isn't due to the Invisible Children organisation, its because Ugandan military and the ICC have interceded. The Invisible Children group are trying to pass a bill that allows America to militarise the region... They are providing misinformation to woo idealistic followers. The group have combined multiple regional conflicts to make it appear that this is one rapidly increasing issue. When confronted about their dodgy tactics, the head spokesperson stated;
“I agree with you that leading people to believe that the war is still happening in Uganda is not ethically right. It's something we've been addressing internally, focusing on getting all staff and supporters on the same page (of communication)."

For every dollar donated, only around $0.24 is going toward direct aid.


Of the $8.9 million they spent in 2011, this is the breakdown:

• $1.7 million in US employee salaries
• $357,000 in Film costs
• $850,000 in Production costs
• $685,000 in Computer equipement
• $244,000 in "professional services" (DC lobbyists)
• $1.07 million in travel expenses
• $400,000 in office rent in San Diego
• $16,000 in Entertainment etc...

Only 2.8 million (31%) made it to their charity program (which is further whittled down by local Ugandan bureaucracy) - what do the children actually get?

As others have mentioned, DO NOT support this "charity". They are a for-profit outfit and more importantly they are financing things just as bad as Kony, i.e. child soldiers, trafficking etc. And Frankly Kony is the lesser of the child army wielding warlords in the region, not sure why he is getting so much attention.
