well....you might just be the only one here that still does it by hand. Most of the fellows here use a device like this

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

I've noticed lately, a lot of people who know nothing of how charities and non-profits work, seem to be calling Invisible Children out for scamming their donators. So I just wanted to shed another light on this whole thing. I'm not really calling anyone out from here, it's mainly across the entire internet that people are picking apart the charity for no reason really.

The thing is, if you look through charity navigator, Invisible Children's top executives don't make all that much more than executives from other charities/non-profits, in fact, they make a lot less than some of the ones I saw (some executives can make as much as $1 million/year from other charities). It may just be my opinion, but these executives have skills (such as video-making and accounting) that could make them a lot more money elsewhere, but instead, they choose to work for Invisible Children - I just don't get how people expect these higher-ups to actually live if they just volunteered their time away, they have to eat and support their families. Also, most other charities have similar ways of splitting up their donations. Usually only a somewhat small percentage goes towards the actual "cause". 30% of 8 million dollars is actually a decent chunk of change, that 30% doesn't include everything though. There are amounts in some of the other categories that could still be considered as going towards the cause.

Some people look at the about $1 million spent on travel and think it is ridiculous, however, this number includes a lot of different things, not just them "flying around and staying in nice hotels". It actually goes towards their free screenings at college campuses, gas for people to get to those screenings, going to Uganda to do their work, bringing some of the survivors to the US so they can share their story and many other costs.

I guess what I'm trying to bring to people's attention is that there is a lot of stigma towards Invisible Children, but most of these people are just repeating what others have said without doing any research for themselves and actually trying to understand how it works. Most charities don't put their entire income towards their cause, if they did it would not be a smooth operation. Also, the executives of Invisible Children deserve to be paid, after all, they're working just like everyone else does. Oh, and a lot of people just donate to charities to get that tax write-off, so most people are happy with that, they don't really care where their donations go.

Absolutely, they have to be paid to be retained, no one works for free.

This is why charities are generally not trusted anymore, they squander the money on expensive travel charges and all sorts of other things. There are many good charities that manage to run equally large operations with much less overhead (Fisher house for example gets like 90% to the actual cause). I understand marketing is necessary because advertisements bring in more donations though, and many travel expenses are legitimate.

I think the issue is that even in Uganda they protested this film and there was actually a riot when it was shown to them. The founder of Invisible children went crazy last week and ran through the streets naked clapping and shouting obscenities after masturbating in public.

"Russell was diagnosed with "brief reactive psychosis" following his naked meltdown ... and will remain hospitalized for several weeks."

Here is him running through the streets naked after masturbating in public.

This Charity has been involved in one scandal after another. Most recently:

Invisible Children's information gathering system (LRAcrisistracker.com) was intentionally skewed towards increasing and misrepresenting the number of incidents of LRA activity.
...when NGO’s provided security information reports that used such language as "presumed LRA", or "unknown persons", the reports always end up being filed conclusively as "LRA activity" by the Invisible Children co-coordinator, Sarah Katz-Lavigne.

The real issue here though is that the US has had a presence there for some time and Kony 2012 seeks to increase the amount of US military intervention in the region, all in the name of stopping a group that has long since stopped activity. Some people don't want the US to get more involved in yet another conflict. It's about way more than money being wasted.

                          LOLOOLLOLOLOLOOL.

For real though it looked like he had been up for a few days on meth, that would be my guess. I wish I could pull shit like this, like just get really ****ed up one night and go run around rich neighborhoods naked and screaming obscenities at people who pass by. Then when I finally come down and the cops show up I could just be like, "Oh sorry officer I think I forgot to drink enough water today, my bad" and get off scott free.
