    Read the whole thing. Always good to have little pieces of the story to inform the Big Picture. In different circumstances Desilvey might have made a good reporter.

      I have the most revered respect for these people. I read their accounts in all the books that I have read about them and have never ceased to be awed by them.

      Different times, different days, different attitudes, strong people. Because they had to.

      Could citizens today cope? Looking at England - no.
