You definately cannot own one to keep in your own home in the UK but you can own one at a gun club.
You can keep a shotgun in your own home in the UK.

I was just looking up if it's legal in Romania to own an electric tazzer and just found out that they're illegal

If you are on the British mainland you cannot be armed at home period.

If you are a Police Officer, Prison Officer, or Army in Northern Ireland you will have a personal protection weapon which you will either strap to you at all times, keep in your glove box in the car or keep in a handy but safe place in your house - loaded. I had one for a short period of time.
