I'm starting to believe that the media is manipulated by everyone out there, and with this news they're able to manipulate people into buying chocolate and so on looooool, that would be hilarious. A large chocolate corporation probably just bought an ad on the radio and TV to generate more sales

It's been known for a while now that dark chocolate benefits the body, which can't really be said as much for milk chocolate and others. I eat some almost everyday (although not a whole bar of it at a time...moderation people). Also just because something is high in calories doesn't make it "bad" and you should avoid it...take peanuts/almonds/cashews for instance..yes, they are around 160-200 for a serving, and are high in fat, but the fat in them is good fat that your body uses in a beneficial way, instead of the saturated/"bad" fat that you find in crap food like fast food, chips, etc. All one has to do is do their own homework on what they eat, be more connected with what you eat, where it comes from, how it's grown, and if and how it's beneficial to your health..you'll be surprised at your findings.

My favorite is Green and Blacks dark 70%. I think to reap the most benefits you have to go with the higher percentages of COCOA and eat about a 2 x 2 inch square daily.

I also like peanut m & m's once in awhile but can definately notice now how sugared they are.

That's exactly what it is Truthwolf, I get 70% or more if I can, I love the taste of really dark chocolate in general. I also get a bag of these dark chocolate pieces that are the size of peanut M&Ms, but also have the Acai berries and blueberries inside them (real fruit, not jelly or sugared)...great grab-n-go kinda sweet snack, plus all together it's a load of antioxidants. I used to like Peanut M&Ms as well but like you said a little too on the sweet side for my liking.

I've been eating a square every day or so lately. I've had Lindt's 90% and 85%. I'm not into sweets so these are a nice not so sweet treat for me now. The 90% is pretty bitter and the 85% is delicious IMO. I just noticed a 99% bar on their site. Holy crap!

My skepticism was justified as soon as I saw that their basis for this was lower BMI between group A and group B. BMI is a BS number for determining ones actual health or slimness.

                Yes, I agree about BMI.
My weight should be 190 pounds at 6,2 which makes me look like a concentration camp prisoner. I once hit that weight and people thought I was dying.

With winter clothes at the doctors I was 250 about a year ago which was BMI obese.

At 210, I am now BMI overweight.

I am 6'5" bouncing between 210 and 205. Trying to cut fat (on the body, not as a food source) and add muscle so I bounce back and forth between. At 6'5" though I am more of a lithe frame. I just barely make BMI by the standard calculation and best guesstimate I am probably at around 18% body fat at most. Most not living in famine stricken countries would have a hard time calling that obese in any sense of the word, or even overweight. The odd thing is that 18% all likes to hang around in a ring around my waist.

205 is where I am shooting to go to right now for the sake of cutting down body fat. Basically I figure my height and frame would make me a light heavyweight. I consider that a reasonable way to look at it. Now if I add enough muscle back on then over is fine. Ok really digressing.

Point is BMI is bs if you are taller than 6' or shorter than 5'2" (narrow range allowing for near average height at best). Also it does not take into account if you are an athlete at all. Most professional athletes register as obese on BMI. Ok depends on the sport but still.

what are your thoughts on this info?? My guess would be that BMI was was created by a ectomorph who is naturally more narrow in frame with lower mass muscle.

In general I agree with it, although I think there are shades of grey in between those three types. But to be honest with myself I am mostly an ectomorph, if I had to pick one.

Oh and having taken the quiz it put me between ecto and meso...

screw the BMI index. I measure my height and my width. If my height measurement is larger than my width measurement then I'm OK
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

I hate to spoil it guys but don't go eating chocolate thinking it will make you healthy. It's high in sugar, calories, and fat, so it doesn't matter whether it helps your BMI or anything like that, it's just not healthy. This is like saying "cigarettes reduce malaria because mosquitoes don't like being around smoke". It sort of helps in one way but is really bad for you in all other ways.
