Everyone should have protection, "suspicious" people especially. That's why the USA was founded on stringent governmental control. Protections were placed so people with unpopular opinions would have freedom along with everyone else. Popular opinions don't need protections. I'm not tooting our horn here. The USA has lost the true path. We were founded on some of the best principles in the history of government, but we've been shedding them over time because they aren't "convenient".

Remember when you were a kid in school and thought.............. how did the German people let Hitler do all that stuff? How did it get so out of hand?

      Here is your answer
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

The government have clarified what they are doing. Most of what they are about do is already in place under the RIPA bill. They are just updating it to include newer technologies such as Skype and voip calls etc.

When the cops are investigating a murder they often subpoena cell phone records and sms records. This helps the cops build a picture of their suspect. In future they would also be allowed to 'under warrant' get your Skype records etc.

They claim they would not be asking ISP's to store the content of your emails or Skype calls but only the end points e.g. who would called or who you received the email from etc.
