The dead don't know any better. They aren't laying there thinking "i wish you weren't fscking me". They aren't thinking anything at all. It's just a lump of chemicals. "respect for the dead" hearkens back to religious superstition, and societal custom. Respect, or at least tolerance for the living is much more important.
