First of all intelligent and smart are synonyms. (english is not my first languange but clearly you don't know English properly)
You're the one not understanding these terms, not me.
I do know the difference between intelligence and being educated (having an education above others).
If you got a high score on an IQ test, than that is more than enough proof that they are not a good measure of intelligence. I hate to make this personal but I mean you are acting like a child who can't even read or have a rational discussion. Really, it's like you are trying to be intentionally obtuse on this thread and I can not for the life of me figure out the reason why.
Enjoy your super intelligence, but please read a few books when you get a chance.

And please educate yourself on what intelligence means and make the difference between the two terms: "intelligence" and "education".
Have you ever asked yourself why IQ tests come with a time limit and why you're given logic puzzles to solve? Don't think so. Well, that test measures the exact speed at which you can attain the information. ............ if you have a better test for intelligence than all of us have (IQ) then please reinvent the wheel ;-)
Do you understand this.

I would respond to your "points" directly but since they show a complete lack of any understanding of my original points it is a waste of my time. And by proxy you have proven Romania as a waste of good parking space for Europe. Hope you enjoy dem apples. Good day.

To all those talking about the population problem.
A) It is currently assumed that there is no population problem, or rather that the population is becoming less of a problem. Birthing rates are dropping and things should level out. This may or may not play out, it's something we kind of just have to watch as it comes.
B) Birthing rates are directly tied to education levels. The answer to any population problem is by encouraging and even incentivizing education. As the education level in a region goes up, the amount of kids people have goes down. Education has the benefit of making people smarter and more informed, and also avoids having to snip baby penises or sterilize half the population etc.

I have an uncle that has a vendetta against the misusage of the word "venue" which he is absolutely correct about but as a gigging musician it is a next to impossible word to avoid misusing.

Q or intelligent quotient in quick simple terms does not test how smart a person is.
You don't even know that intelligent and smart are synonyms, you're clearly an analphabet trying to pose as a "smart ass" on forums.
A romanian "Idiot" as you like to call me knows better English than you do.
Let me make the needed adjustment to what you've said.
The IQ or Intelligent Quotient in quick simple terms does not test how educated a person is.
sorry about the debate, but idiots like you that clearly make a mistake and don't even speak their own language properly should not be attacking other's from Romania that DO know the difference between the two English words better than you do. :-) I've been polite, to a point where Ken started calling me names. (we're having a discussion here, sorry if I use a language that you do not comprehend.
sorry but some people are smarter than others, that's the way it goes, if you haven't got my point on the thread, then just bad luck, go learn English.

What I'm saying is that you don't know what you're talking about and I do, because, well... I hate to say it.... but I have a high IQ.
/THIS THREAD IS OVER, ROO WINS.
Why oh why did it take a couple years for more than one person to call bullshit on this young man at any given time? This thread was a blessing. Thanks Fazer. It has also contributed enormously to what has otherwise been a mundane day at the office.

Ken
However, I can't really see how this is an improper use of the term going by it's definition:
ob·tuse
adj. ob·tus·er, ob·tus·est
1.
a. Lacking quickness of perception or intellect.
b. Characterized by a lack of intelligence or sensitivity: an obtuse remark.
So how would it be improper usage to say someone is being purposefully obtuse? As in they are trying to show their lack of intellect?
