Duchesse de Bourgogne, Flemish brown ale (Belgium)
    Vichtenaar, Flemish Brown ale (Belgium)
    MacEvans cask ale (Scotland)
RedScrees cask ale (from English lake district)
Golden Pride bottle conditioned ale (producer by Fullers in England)
Verhaege Echtkriek (cherry flavored ale from Belgium)
Westmalle Trappist (Trappist ale from Belgium)
Franziskaner Hefeweizen (Wheat beer from Bavaria)
Miller Lite (American sex in a canoe)
    What the ..............???!!!!

and the list was going so well Jan

You'll thank me later.
      Hey Roo,
Pliny the Elder is my white whale! I've heard so many good things about it, but never found it. Every time I'm in Seattle I look for it to no avail. Hopslam is hard to get as well, draught sells out immediately and the only time I bought it in a store they had a 12 pack limit.

There's almost always a place where it's on tap somewhere in town, albeit for like 24 hours. Yeah next time you're up here do one or two of the following: 1) hit me up on PM, 2) call around to Über Tavern, The Dray, Collins Pub, Brouwers Pub come to mind for bars that might have a keg tapped, and also call the following stores: Bottleworks, Big Star Beer Market (then hit me up again because that's right by my house), Full Throttle Bottle, or The Beer Junction. It's that good. Better yet, if you're ever in SFO, rent a car and drive up to Santa Rosa and go to the brewery, it's great. So many amazing beers on tap. Then when you leave go to the nearest super market and you'll find shelves completely stocked with it to take back to the hotel. Anyway, all that is to say... it's that good.

I've been to Brouwers (enjoyed the food as well) and the bottle works, both pretty awesome! Where I live in south Alabama the beer situation is dismal, we have only had beer above 5% abv for two years now and we still have stupid restrictions on volume which limits me from getting magnums, so most of the Belgian ales are out so... I drive to Pensacola, FL when I want something really special

Bought few beers to try today: Mikkeller 1000 IBU, Mikkeller Jackie Brown and BrewDog Punk IPA. Mikkeller 1000 IBU is currently the most bitter beer in the world, gotta say that I won't buy that again, at first it starts out quite mellow but aftertaste is pure bitter mayhem, crazy stuff. I really like "Jackie Brown" though, nice coffee/chocolate taste with mild sweetness.

Yup, and they're not cheap too. They have some good ones but 1000IBU is a serious overkill..

Just picked up some Anchor Liberty Ale on sale. Normally, that shizz is too expensive round here.

I am actually thinking of splashing out on a trial set of american brews, Snusdog... tiny bottles and very pricey but people who have tried them swear by them... do you like Sierra Nevada ale? 0.33 bottle at 4 dollars.. it must be good!

                        Love Weissbier and pilsners.

Anyone tried the most popular beer here from Denmark? Carlsberg and Tuborg. Its good but I wanna try new stuff since it was everyting I bought earlier.
Renico.. the story of Calsberg and tuborg is a sad one.... i am yet to have a pint of genuine carslberg.. both brands have been "cloned" and licensed for brewing all over the world....carsberg is also brewed here, i don't even touch the stuff... i have tried carslberg that is produced locally in Israel.. it is much worse than other israeli beer (who would think of Israel as a beer country).

yes.. i share your love for Weissbier. Germany produced huge quantities of excellent beer but there are only a few styles. Belgium and Britain are much more interesting countries for a beer lover

Jan - You are right. Its also been a while since I have bought Carlsberg and Tuborg but as you probably know its the first beers you notice when looking for beers at supermarkets and so on. Carlsberg, Tuborg and a brand named Royal always stands in front together.

I bet ill like London Pride so ill look out for the Golden pride And just all other fullers beers as they seem interesting.

I forgot to mention that we have another lager here that is Danish as well - FAXE... and now I remember drinking canned something with a polar bear on the can (Verhoe.... i am not sure i remember the name).. these brands are far superior to "our version" of carsberg.
Also (I just won't stop suggesting!!!), I am sure you will like "Hen's tooth".. its from the same brewery that makes "Old Speckled Hen" and "Abbot" ales...

Never tried Old Speckled Hen but always wanted. Going to look out for these beers from that brewery then! Yea FAXE is from here to but not very popular. Not often I find it.

Verhoe.. Close Its a strong beer for Harboe named Polar bear

FAXE is almost in every supermarket here and it's very cheap, it's probably made for the foreign market mainly..
