Star Trek’s Enterprise ship could be built in 20 years!

Engineer: Star Trek’s Enterprise ship could be built in 20 years at a cost of $1 trillion

Whether you're a Trekkie or not, you have to admit that there's some sense of wonder toexploring the stars and trying to find life on distant planets. Of course, the U.S.S. Enterprise is a fictional ship, but have you ever put in the thought as to what it would take to actually build it, and when we could get it done if we really put in the effort? The man behind the well-researched site buildtheenterprise.org has, and he's determined that a fully functional Enterprise is only 20 years away if we put in the effort.

Lol, 20 years? Not even close. Warp technology is completely theoretical and still likely to be impossible at any point in the future, let alone 20 years. We couldn't get a decent cure for cancer out in 20 years, let alone what it would take to literally rewrite the laws of physics to allow for humans to travel through the universe. Even assuming we spent $1 trillion per year researching it, there are just some inherent obstacles that we can't get around yet and we most certainly will not be able to get around them in 20 years no matter what.

I'm thinking more like a couple of hundred years if, of course, ever.
