I just didn't want to be contacted by anybody all the time. The thing is you could log out but curiousity would still get the better of you and you'd log back in. The best thing for me was to bin it.

Facebook has its pros and cons -

I do filter a lot of stuff on facebook though.

The platform can be considered spyware (even though it's not "actual" spyware, it's just that it got so addictive for so many people that they basically share with thousands what they eat, drink, buy, spend, where they go, who they go with, who they live with ... basically getting so "naked" on a social platform is immoral.

the question is how they use all the information they collect :-)

precisely. And then there are the discussions or groups where everybody is intent on falling out with everybody else - never mind family!! It's so feckin tedious.

I have a facebook, but havn't used it for almost 3 years. My wife keeps it open and is the only one who accesses it. She's always like "Hey so and so is requesting to add you as a friend, should I accept it for you?", and I'm like "Babe, I've been telling you for years that I don't use facebook, do NOT accept any friend requests as that may give the impression that I use Facebook still." I don't even know how to use it anymore so I don't know how to delete it. Is there still that website called the internet suicide machine or something that lets you erase all of your social media accounts? I'd love to nuke that and my old myspace page from ages ago which i forgot the password to and don't know how to shut down.

The games were rubbish. Had Zynga poker on my phone for a while - some days it worked some days it didn't.

I had to post a picture to my account holding a sign that said delete my myspace account. It was a PITA but worked out.

I deleted my facebook two years ago and couldnt be happier. Their privacy policy is crap and useless.

I am on Google+ but really only use the messenger feature to organize bar hops with my friends. Plus, I have an android...what doesn't Google know about me? ;-)

Facebook just sucks. I can't understand why it's so popular. I hate just everything what's that site is about.
People just wan't attention there, not all but most of like 99%. I get sick just when I hear the word Facebook.
There's just so many things to not like facebook that I can't stand even list.
