    What I did tonight......

So, my wife was driving my Jeep Cherokee tonight and I was driving her car, when she calls and tells me that the Jeep was broken down and I need to come get her. I'm on my way to get her and she calls me back to tell me that the Jeep is on fire now, and when I got there it was FULLY engulfed as the picture shows

The electric cooling fan shorted or something and that ignited power steering fluid that had leaked from an old hose on the power steering pump. Freak accident really, but like I said...I'm just glad my family is okay. when I pulled up and saw this Jeep ablaze and couldn't see Amy or the kids, I got really freaked out, even though I knew they were behind the building it was parked in front of.

Glad everyone's alright. Time to demote your wife to the PP mobile, but I'd swap the quad for a bicycle :^D

glad the family is fine. That car can be replaced. Not so easy to replace the loved ones.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Yikes! I am glad everyone is OK. Does this mean you get to pick the replacement? I meant car and not wife.

sure, but I'll have to pay for it. That Jeep was paid for and I loved it......sadness

Wow that's terrible! Very glad everyone is OK though. Coincidentally, there was just a story about Jeeps catching fire, http://www.huffingtonpost.com/huff-w...investigation/, sounds like it's different from your fire though.

Wow Rick, sorry about your Jeep. Almost had a similar incident years ago with my F-150. Radio cut out, smelled that burning wire smell. I pulled over popped the hood and the wiring harness was pretty well ablaze. If not for the fire extinguisher behind the seat would probably ended up like your Jeep.

Jeeps are known to catch fire really easily. When I was like 16 my friend and I pissed of his mom by stealing her jeep cherokee and she persued us in another car in an all out car chace. The bottom of the car lit on fire from us pushing too hard or something. Never figured out what actually caused the fire but since that day I decided I would never own a jeep lol.

Jeeezus. I can't imagine what was going through your mind when you approached that.
