    Driver's road test

Can someone please tell me what a "turn around turn about" is? A tester/cop just failed me on my final road test because I didn't know what it was. Is it an actual thing? I can't find it in the manual.

    I am so mad.

I've never heard of that, but my interpretation would be a 3 point turn.

In some residential neighborhoods, at least around here, they will put a circle in the middle of a 4-way intersection that you have to drive around. Usually there is a tree or something in it so it's clearly visible. If you are driving North and you want to take a left turn Westward, you have to drive all the way around the circle, or the turn-about or whatever you want to call it, counterclockwise. It helps slow everyone down and prevent collisions in the unmarked intersection.

Doesn't he just mean a roundabout?

Typically I hear that term used in the UK to describe a traffic circle...

I'd put my money on it being a '3 point turn' along with LX...

if you guys call 'roundabouts' 'traffic circles'?....

'roundabouts' not being the same thing as traffic calming....

            Hmmmmm......

Roundabouts are the work of satan IMO accident magnets! If they didn't have roundabouts here then all the dodgy taxi drivers would have nowhere to induce accidents, they are all in on it together I swear!! lol

Right, roundabout and traffic circle are two common and useful terms that both escaped me at the time I was writing my reply lol.

Roundabouts are a brilliant invention to get traffic flow working without the need for lights.

Unless you're in France that is, where 50% of the population still can't get their head around the change from the "priorité à gauche" rule that went out in the '60s. That had to be the craziest road rule where if you are joining a main road from a side road - you had the right of way. Old drivers in France still just jump on to roundabouts without looking at all... well they do in front of me anyway.
