Morphine, The Band -- Not The Drug

I'm not sure how many of you have even heard of the band Morphine. They have never been extremely popular (from my understanding), but they were an amazing group. I discovered them back in 2004 or 2005 on accident. The music is incredible, but sadly the vocalist died back in 99'.

I found the band when I was dealing with some difficulties and for some reason the music really appealed to me. Still today, they remain one of the few groups whose albums I can listen to start to finish. I'd call their music a mix of blues/jazz/rock. They really were an incredible band, and I hope you guys will take the time to listen to a couple of their songs. Even though their music is finished, it is still very much alive (at least for me). Hope you guys will check them out, they are worth a listen for sure.

I've never heard of them, but I enjoyed 'Whisper' and 'I know you' (nice beat, definitely digging the jazz sax)

    Thanks for sharing!

I'm glad you like it! I'm not sure why I felt like sharing this, I just think more people should know about them I guess.

Great band and very unique unique sound. I've got a couple of their CDs. Love the combo of saxophone and heavy base, singer was really good as well.

Saw one of his last shows before he left this world in NY. The bass/jazz/vocal mix was amazing and very unique to anything I have ever heard before.
