Yes and drinking alcohol also correlates with increased happiness.

children who feel that their lives have meaning and value and who develop deep, quality relationships - both measures of spirituality - are happier.
How is having a life of meaning and value, and developing deep quality relationships in any way measures of spirituality?

Alcohol can be very spiritual as many other psychedelics. I think Cocaine and Meth are just a tad more selfish in my opinion

Spirituality can mean a lot of things to different people and with all the belief systems being questioned in our modern day I believe it is still evolving. At least my own seems to be growing with the years. That line seems to be more about the benefits of spirituality verses measures.

I agree that keeping some mystery in the world is good for the soul and all and I consider myself to be spiritual in some ways, but I mean they are trying to claim having a meaningfull life and developing good relationships with others are measures of spirituality, which I think is bogus. Thos are measures of lots of things, not just spirituality.

However, the article was from science daily which is generally a usefull source of information so I will guess they know what they are talking about there.

I think the most important thing is to (as they did in the article) seperate spirituality form religion. Religions is just a series of traditions and dogmatic rituals and practices or beliefs that people perofrm thinking it will bring them closer to their creator. I think spirituality is about something much more than that.
