    Extreme Heat or Extreme Cold?

I've realised something living in a nation where air conditioning is not often used. I f**king HATE hot weather! I've actually always hated extreme heat, but being without a break from the heat has made me realise how much I hate it. I'd rather be in 20 degree weather sitting indoors with a down jacket on.

What about you guys? When I say extreme I'm talking about uncomfortable to either extreme. 38 C + (100+ F) / below 0 C (32 F or colder). Give me uncomfortable cold anyday. I'll throw on a huge jacket and not complain once about it. I've had to work outdoors in the winter during ice storms and I'd still rather have that, than a sweaty hot day.

You can always put more cloths on, there is only so much you can take off. I'll go for cold any day.

I knew a fellow PNW'er would agree! Makes me want to go to cannon beach with a sweater on.

I'll take cold every time. I despise the heat. My ideal day is 55F, and overcast with a heavy mist in the air. Colder is fine too though. I want to live some place where it gets to 70F in the summer, and everyone's complaining about the unbearable heat :^D

My friend, you just described a day in Portland, Oregon. I think you need to move out west.

Cold every time, as previously said, you can always put another jumper of jacket on, once you are naked there aint much else you can do to keep cool. I like the rain and autumn here in the UK, perfect IMO.

I hate sweating and being hot. Oregon, I have spent a decent amount of time in China as well, been there many times. I love it but the heat gets to me for sure, especially the humidity. I already draw a lot of attention in most of China, being very pale and bald and bearded and so forth, then on top of all that I'm always sweating bullets and you have yourself a proper spectacle right there. Even here in Seattle where the normal Summer temp is mid-70s, this time of year always makes me yearn for Fall. October is by far my favorite time of the year.

I voted Extreme Cold. It is summer here in Ga. So I want it to be cooler.
In the Winter I will probably say Extreme Hotter.
But the truth is I can put on more covering than take of more covering.
Just store me in a controlled temp storage building and I will survive.

Here smack in the middle of the country we have the dubious pleasure of experiencing both. Got up to 106 today and 10 or 15 below zero is common in January. The upper midwest really goes for the gold with 100 plus summer temps and as much as 40 or 50 below in the middle of winter. That sports fans is a 150 degree range. Crikey.

Cold without question. It's always easier to warm up than cool down. I also love how breathing in crisp clean air as opposed to hot stagnant air.

I just went camping all weekend and am done with ****ing heat. Turn the AC down to 60 and put on a jacket if you need to. It's easy to get warm but not easy too cool yourself.

Extreme cold can get old too. Mid-winter MN has long stretches of below 0 weather. Your muscles start to tense up just from a 20 minute ride in a car and talk about the body shakes! Similar to alcohol withdrawls without the sweating. Once you get your act financial act together it is almost a known obligation for many to take a trip to the beach which gives you some hope of getting through those months.

The last number of years however we have experienced unusually high temperatures like the rest of the world. Last winter was not like anyone I have ever experienced because we pretty much did not have one. If that is climate change then it works for me.
