I am not a computer type person and I have used Linux since windows 98 came out. If I can use it and enjoy it anyone can. I also have 2 apples and can see where Linux and Mac os are similar but I choose the Linux box every time. It is easy and simple to use and has no bigger learning curve than any other operating system.

My 62 year old dad uses a Linux box for all of his regular computing. Pretty wild if you ask me.
As far as Win8 is concerned, it kicks ass on a tablet type device but seems odd on a desktop.
