SANA, Yemen — Turmoil in the Arab world linked to a contentious video denigrating the Prophet Muhammad spread on Thursday to Yemen, where hundreds of protesters stormed the United States Embassy, two days after assailants killed the American ambassador in Libya and crowds tried to overrun the embassy compound in Cairo.

I watched a video the other day that featured 9/11 footage, especially people jumping from the towers, set to the tune of Jump by Van Halen. I imagine that would be considered offensive by most, but nobody's rioting over it, and I forgot it soon after watching. I'd shut down all the embassies in the region, and never look back. That whole area only causes problems, and they provide nothing of value excluding oil. The sooner we take a strict neutrality position with the world, the better off we'll be.

This. Especially with Israel posturing with Iran - that's a tinderbox that you'd get dragged into.

I've been deeply unhappy about the UK following the US in it's foreign policies.

UPDATE 1-EU pledges up to 700 million euros in aid to Egypt

BRUSSELS, Sept 13 (Reuters) - The European Union offered Egypt economic aid of up to 700 million euros ($902 million) on Thursday, showing how European governments are trying to build ties with the Islamist rulers brought to power in Egypt's first free elections.

The pledge came as Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi made his first trip to Europe since his election in June, hoping to reassure the EU of his democratic credentials and win economic aid as he looks to revive the broken economy.

He rose to power under the Muslim Brotherhood, which is opposed to Israel and with which Washington only opened formal relations last year.

It will be a great day when we decide to just leave everyone alone.

I like Rand's position. IF they cannot control their own people then screw it! NO MORE FINANCIAL AID.
