Well well well - isn't the internet a small place - just found out that Whalen doesn't only share my enthusiasm for growing tobacco - but he also has another love in common with me ... playing folk accordion.



Just thought I'd share that. In fact .. he's got his back to us but I think this might be him in the video below going for the world record morris dancing speed championship:

squeezyjohn - that fellow plays much better than I would! I attend Morris dances on a regular basis as a matter of fact! I have several friends in the Morris troupe here. I live in a very remote part of the state, But have a college in West Virginia at Shepherdstown. There are a disproportionate amount of Pagans, Artists, musicians, and Morris dancers here. Last year we had two different dance troops from across the pond dance here.

We also have a large contingent of Timber framers present, that leads to them building strange things in the woods, such as a timber framed Folly, and several Trebuchet's!

Excellent! Playing the squeezebox in that style is what I do for a living. My dad is a morris dancer - he's not that fast any more though!

I would actually believe anything after finding out that one of the top men in the White House was called "Randy Bumgardener"- if that isn't funny in the US you have to imagine that a member of our royal family was actually called "Prince Horny Ass-sanitizer" ... and then multiply it by 100 because British men all have the sense of humour of a 14 year old boy.
