NBC Battleground Poll Shows Big Leads For President Obama

Fueled by increased optimism about the economy and nation’s direction, President Barack Obama leads Mitt Romney by 5 points among likely voters and now sees his job-approval rating reaching the 50 percent threshold for the first time since March, according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

The survey – which was conducted after the two party conventions and the political firestorm over last week’s U.S. embassy attacks, but before Romney’s controversial comments about the 47 percent of the country “who are dependent on government” – shows the percentages believing that the country is headed in the right direction and thinking that the economy will improve at their highest levels since 2009.

In the presidential horse race, Obama and Vice President Joe Biden get the support of 50 percent of likely voters, while Romney and running mate Paul Ryan get 45 percent.

Are you effing kidding me. Nobody I know thinks that things are getting or going to get better no matter what their affiliation. And Romney was completely correct in saying that when nearly 50% of the nation is on the dole how can you win if your not willing to dole it out. Jesus Christ! Those who feed will lead. It's as simple as that and you know what that means for those that aren't on the dole. You are the dole. They have domesticated half of the population. There is no way out. I am truly ashamed of the state of the union at this point. And i absolutely refuse to play the game by the rules anymore. Everybody should be trying to take back the country by working for cash or bartering as much as possible, before they take that away as well.......

Being that I'm currently enrolled in a social research course at a university I will say this: No matter what side of the American political system you are on, polls from TV corporations are notoriously wrong. There are legit political research groups that do take polls that are representative of the entire U.S., but with the political climate as it is in the U.S., none of them could say who is in the lead with a +/-3 or 5% error margin. Basically, the NBC poll is shit and as a social work student, I hope for a liberal president since that will increases social services provided by the government, but we just have to wait until the day is here. I seriously doubt that any poll can say for sure that Romney or Obama is going to win.

I will be quite honest. I think both of our main choices for President this year sucks. But, I will tell you this. Romney and his sidekick ****ing scare me. Watch and see, they are going to abolish unions and will be at war with Iran within 4 years.

This is quite a tricky place to be.

1)Nothing has changed in 4 years for many people. No hope, no change no nothing. Like I said 4 years ago this quite possibly could be the new economy. Everything people protested so hard against Bush for was continued through this administration.

2)The other side is offering really nothing new to the current program other then toning down Obamacare. If there is a radical change we still have yet to hear it. Ron Paul at least had a plan and years of experience to see how all this economic tragedy would evolve.

So, do we vote to kick out a really bad, lobbied/controlled puppet for a similar new one? or does this one deserve to stay? This voting pattern might be very obvious to many members but for someone like myself who has been disgruntled with politicians for years, THIS REALLY IS THE FINAL ICING ON THE CAKE of a realization there is no real choice.

Better yet, why does the nation not stand as one and root out the corruption in both our politics and government? Our country is not a democracy, in reality it is a plutocracy, while the little people argue over which party "they" think should win, they are not realizing that their vote does not matter.

You are truly choosing between various corporate interests. They own our politicians through political action committees. These committees are funneled million's of non transparent dollars which then go toward advertising. A politician has to bend to the will of this committee or his run at election, will be ruined by negative advertising.

The politician also has to vote in congress in a way that will benefit the corporation if he wants to succeed in his election. Money is the true root of all evil, as it corrupts at every single level.

It's not Obama or Romney your choosing. It's more equivalent to Meijer or Walmart.

Truthwolf, I went and seen Ron Paul earlier this year at one of his speaking functions. I like the man's idea's I really do, but guess what? I would never vote for him!

As a Libertarian, Paul would also want to De-regulate business, I have already seen multiple member's of my family die due to asbestos exposure and I would really not enjoy seeing that again in my lifetime.

Paul would only increase the likelihood of further erosion of worker rights.

His deregulation does not mean that people will lack accountability. Especially if they cause harm to other people. He is very much against fraud and bailing out people who commit it over and over. Dirty, You understand the game fully of how Corporatism is so ingrained within our politicians. Regulation legislation always in one way or another benefits the big guys. The same thing with PACT ACT.
