Good luck all of you on and near the east coast. There's been a lot more coverage of it in the media this afternoon. Lets hope it veers back off to the ocean as they do now and then. The system that is supposed to collide with the hurricane is over me right now but doesn't seem to be very strong, just a bit of rain and temperatures well above freezing.

HA...I NEVER put my snus in the fridge anyway, so I'm good ;-) Okay, I spent the day prepping, not that I had a lot to do to get ready. I keep firewood by the cords, always have candles, batteries and the like. I did need to stock up a bit on water, propane and kerosene. I filled the vehicles with gas. Gassed the chainsaw, got out my ropes, because I KNOW we'll lose some trees. The crappy part of this for us, is that it's been raining for two days already and the ground is saturated. So with the impending heavy rains and then snow...we'll probably not only lose power, but have quite a bit of flooding too. Hope this shit passes all of us.

This storm is huge! Hell, here in Chicago we're under a high wind advisory for Tuesday into Wednesday. 40+ mph winds off Lake Michigan. I mean we're no strangers to high winds but, for a system coming off the Atlantic to impact us, as well as winds off the Lake in October??? All you guys, and/or gals, on the NE coast stay safe.

Getting hairy, lost power three times with almost no wind earlier. Moved all the vehicles out of harms way. Cut down two trees that I know are gonna go.
Almost time to start drinking. That is my plan, get everything ready to go, then start cracking bottles of homebrew. Anxiety levels are a little elevated around here, we duck taped the cat to the basement door so we don't have to fart around looking for her!

Fist bottle to go will be a snoring cat, Imperial stout, bottle aged two months, Xanax in a bottle. I will all my tobacco to whomever finds it first! Worth looking for!
