Moving abroad - insights and experiences?

Yeah, believe it or not; I have plans to move from the kingdom of snus. I don't know why, but I feel like I have seen enough of Sweden and want to move abroad. Right now I'm in Thailand working, and it is awesome. Thailand is not the place I want to move to, but I'm thinking Germany.

Has anyone moved abroad before, and how did you go about doing that? Is it better to study there for a while and then make up your mind?

I'd say slower is always better than faster. You don't want to jump into something as important as home on a whim unless you want to be a professional gypsy. Nothing wrong with that. Traveling has it's appeal, but I tend to be rooted to home. That's why I'm still here in MD. It's not due to the weather, or the people :^D

I went from the US Army to Dubai.....

Its been interesting and after 4 years I can't wait to leave.

My advice, check the local papers on where you want to be and start applying from there.

In my case the skill set for my job is quite limited, so it was easy. For any career other than aviation maintenance I have no clue.

Manpower staffing is world wide and is also a great aid in finding jobs abroad.

He can go anywhere in Europe with no hassle, just turn up and live or study there, no visas, limits on stay, nothing. Its one of the only benefits on the EU. Seattle would be cool though, I feel its one of my spiritual homes

Well I'm studying abroad in Germany right now, and I love Germany... it's awesome... but let me tell you. Between the orders of snus that were "shipped" from Northerner, and the hangups with sending money to people to send snus to me, I've had enough.

Pretty much, the only downside I see to traveling abroad is getting snus. Given that Norther employs severely retarded monkeys, it's almost impossible to get snus here right now, at least as far as I know. I there is something I am missing, please aware me ASAP.

FYI I'm in Bonn, Germany, if you come here within the next month and a half PM me and I will show you around.

Hey man my neighbor is an aviation Mechanic. He says they can't hire enough people. Actually keeps trying to recruit me. I'd do it if I wasn't building my own biz and will if what I'm doing becomes untenable. Anyways it appears their Always looking so if your ever wanting Chicago is a good place to look.
