Nice work Crow, I am impressed. I don't mean to nitpick, but for the sake of accuracy, in China the state does not mandate sex-selective abortion. That is a practice done privately and against the state's will. The main reason for forced abortions in China is violation of the one child policy. Happy thanksgiving!

Ahhh yes, sorry. I got North Korea and China mixed.

North Korea is the one with mandate (i.e. if a pregnant refugee is repatriated, the state forces her to abort).

[OPINION] Abortion (United States)

2014's best and worst states according to Americans United for Life (anti-abortion organisation)............. Still number one (five years in a row)..!



For the sake of clarity: the 'least protective' states (for this organisation) in reality means the 'most protective' (for the woman's right to choose).

The one thing that really gets the AUL's knickers in a twist, is no requirement of parental notification or consent for minors. Which my state allows (as it should). Let's be honest, there are abusive parents out there and by mandating parental notification/consent, it puts some girls in risk of physical and/or psychological danger should their parent(s) be nutters.

Of course, for the average (and relatively sane) parent, you would want to know if your daughter is going through such a situation, and to be there to support her... But ultimately, the decision should rest on the individual (and what she feels is the best approach).
