    Who plays acoustic guitar?

What guitars do ya have? What is your style...fingerpicker, flatpicker, strummer? Some of all?

I've been playing many years, but not professionally. I'm just a porch/couch strummer, but I love it.
I have a Martin D-18GE, an old Epiphone Texan, and a few others. Love strumming The Beatles, CSN&Y,
and trying my hand at bluegrass rhythm. I love it all.

    What about you?

Beatles Forever. Lets see some pics!
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

      Ok PP,

Me with my Santa Cruz, I think it was the E chord on Strawberry Fields Forever.....

Here's my '64 Texan. The perfect Beatles strummer. This thing produces a tone very similar to Lennon's Gibson J-160E.....

Those are really nice mate. That 64 is in great shape for its age......about 1 more year and its 50 years old. Nice.

I haven't played guitar in years, and when I did it was primarily electric, but I have a magical Yamaha Eterna. Why magical? It was a $100 guitar back in the 80s, but it played better than some $1k+ guitars I've played, including Martin. If I were to buy a higher end acoustic, I've always liked Taylors. Fairly bright, and a nice easy action.

I play electric and acoustic, but primarily acoustic.

I bought an Epiphone Masterbilt DR-500M dreadnought months ago and I love it. Solid mahogany back and sides and sitka spruce top. I'm mainly a strummer, but do some flatpicking and fingerpicking. I especially love The Avett Brothers and also Neil Young.

grover, that is one fine Santa Cruz! Is that a slope-shoulder? I want to play one badly, but there are no dealers within a reasonable distance of me.

Can't go wrong with a D-18 or an Epi, either.

Grover, Victory, nice. I just yesterday decided to buy my first acoustic and learn to play. I got a Luna Henna Oasis (http://www.lunaguitars.com/acousticp...hennaoasis.php). Taking a break to check SnusOn as I type (fingers are hurting lol).

I played at a thousand campfires. In my country it was considered seriously avant-garde and anti-commie and libertarian (or just free minded) when I was young. I have no idea what my guitar is called in English; it´s just dried by a thousand fires and soaked by a thousand dewy mornings. But my kids still like it when I play them lullabies: at least the youngest one still does and I never sleep under the wide sky any more...

Hey Victory, yeah it's a VJ (Vintage Jumbo) slope shoulder. I bought it used in Nashville. It's a good guitar. It plays well and is light as a feather.
But my D-18GE is louder and punchier and has better tone to my ears. I like Adi tops.

Hey those Epi Masterbilts are great guitars!

Hey Coder, awesome that you're learning to play! Practice, practice, practice and stick with it, be patient. Those fingertips will develop calluses before too long.

Grover, I am a big fan of Martins. My stepfather has a D-28 and I love playing. I will own one someday, but for now they're just a tad outta my price range. I've been eyeing the D-16rgt.

I got lucky with this Masterbilt. I got the acoustic fever when I got really into Neil Young and found this one on Ebay from FretJoe in Tuscaloosa for cheap. He sells a bunch of these and they're factory 2nds. Not a thing wrong with it. I can't even find cosmetic blemish. Anyway, I didn't even have to have it setup. Perfect out of the box.

Coder, that's awesome. I've been playing for damn near 13 years and my fingers still hurt from time to time.

I've gotten more joy in life out of music than just about anything I can think of.

All fingerpicking here. In fact it's to the point that a pick is foreign to me.

I have a Martin. The sound is just top notch to me and it plays like butter.

I'm a raw novice... just started learning guitar less than a year ago. Started out with a cheap no-name, but upgraded recently to a Breedlove Passport OM/MMe, which I really love. Playing mostly with a pick at present, but I'm starting to learn a little fingerpicking. I play everything from Bach to The Dead Weather. I don't play many songs well, just yet, but it's a work in progress.
