Nice clip Extreme. Uilleann pipes rock. Very "vocal", and live sounding. I always liked this track from Davy Spillane. He tends to drift into schmaltz a lot, but he has moments of genius, and is a fantastic player.

      Can't open the file Lx.
If you can find Roisin Dubh on the pipes played well it's very soulful and extremely Irish.

Zimobog - I was born into a heavily Protestant family in the North but I'm more interested in Southern culture - I'm in a very small minority lol. Some Prods up North are an embarrassment presently. I very simply want everybody to grow up and get on but I feel that it will be my dying wish.

I only have it in .ogg format :^( VLC would be able to play it.

I have Roisin Dubh on one of my discs, but for the life of me I can't remember what it sounds like. I'll hunt it down on YouTube. I listened to Gaelic music almost exclusively for a long time, but kind of got away from it. Once I get more hd space, I'll have to hook up one of my burners, and get my collection transferred to the computer.

Extreme-yeah, I can agree with your sentiment. My wife's ancestoral home is also Northern, from Lake Swilley I think it is called. Fighting about "god" and nationalism Have to be two of the worst reasons man has ever dreamed up.

He does play the bagpipes and dresses the part as well cause he is related to the MacKinnons and Rydales who came to America via Northern Ireland post-plantation. He has been to Scotland and England but I had to stay home and babysit the Scottish family as part of a house-swap thing.
But before you ask, they were gits. All they wanted to do was commercial crap like Disney and act American. Oh yeah and bitch about all the blacks and a lack of nightclubs. Lol anyhow all my Irish ancestors are Protestant. My father has always been proud of the roots. For Xmas I got him Extra Crumbs of Comfort. He is in to that sort of thing as well.
If its a Rover V8 its all good, except the body, they were fugly as hell, very Terry and June! My personal pref is a side by side, I know plenty who use over unders for birds but side by sides are just better, I personally use the barrels to help aim and judge position. Yup deffo a barbour, my father was all about dogs for working first then pets, I am no expert but I have always picked mine as pets first because I just love ESS and ECS, whichever one comes u to me and wants the most cuddles wins

You are strong to be able to cope with bagpipes lol. Most scotts are wankers, what do you expect when your rugby union squad is so bad! CoC is a great snuff, if he like the extra CoC try him on Prime Minister, has a bit more of a punch to it and I love it.

p.s. getting hold of a firearms cerificate is far from easy thing to do here BUT IT IS POSSIBLE JUST...............
Say you live in the UK and want to get a Glock 17, a Sig P226, a CZ 75 or any other type of modern handgun that you would use for IPSC. Would you be able to? The answer is no. I looked into UK gun laws and they're made in such a way as to prevent the citizen from owning a practical firearm. Now, you could get a modified handgun that conforms to the laws and then undo the modifications to make it usable again, but that would be illegal.

This is why people in the US need to fight tooth and nail for their rights, because if they give even an inch, they'll soon find themselves with more and more restrictions imposed on the guns they may own until they're at UK level.

mordren you are so spot on mate it's not good to be a shooter here in the uk.
if you'r a law-abiding citizen and even a top offical olympic team shooter you can't have a pistol or handgun as there illegal here full stop!
BUT have a look at the british news papers and you will see that CRIMINALS still have loads of handguns funny they must of just forgotten to hand them in for destruction when the pistol ban strarted .........
so my american brothers DO WHAT YOU CAN BEFORE IT'S TO LATE FOR YOU AS WELL !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just to put things into an historical perspective.

Some of you guys know Bill Johnson from the magazine. If you're not a reader of the Ephemeris (shame on you) he's 84 years old and tells the best stories.

We were talking about gun control last week and he remembered how as a kid, a traveling salesman came by the farm one day to try and sell his dad a Thompson submachine gun. Full auto, drum magazine Al Capone model. The gun was so impractical and expensive, plus the war was over (WWI), sales were so bad that Thompson was reduced to trying to market it to farmers and ranchers to deter poachers and wild animals.

The salesman and Bill's dad went behind a building and unloaded a full drum into an old curing barn. Bill's dad was impressed, but he told the salesman that it was too much firepower for him. "If the Germans ever hop my fence, I'll be sure and give you a call," he said.

Now could you imagine a situation like that happening today in the USA? Nope, because our rights have been gradually whittled away. When machine guns were legal, the only people that committed crimes with them were gangsters. Banning them was a knee-jerk reaction that didn't accomplish jack squat. In the 50's, switchblades were banned in hopes that gang violence would just go away.

All of this recent talk about banning "assault" weapons (I still hate that term anytime it's used to refer to a civilian firearm) is just a knee-jerk reaction that will accomplish nothing. But read the story above and realize that 75 years from now, our great grandchildren will be remembering how their granddaddy used to have handguns with magazines that held 20 rounds and you used to be able to walk into Wal-Mart and buy rifles and shotguns that weren't single shot .410s and .22 rimfires.

It's all gradual. It's a constant whittling. Nobody's going to ban guns overnight. It takes a while to accomplish, but we'll be there in 50 years.

Proposals from Biden's Task Force could come as early as Tuesday (which will come with the "Assault Weapons Ban" as the flagship proposal)... I personally don't think the votes are there for reinstating the "Assault Weapons" ban, and I would say that the "High Capacity" magazine ban proposal is a toss-up.

Apparently, the NRA doesn't think the votes are there either...

Time will tell how it plays out....
